ABO Gear Jute Bone Dog Toy

My 7 month old dachshund basenji mix, aka "destroyer of socks", loved it! Unfortunately, he had one end of the jute bone shredded and the inner jute core removed in only 1 hour. That, and the fact that it leaves strands of jute everywhere and I was concerned about him swallowing them, makes it a bit difficult for me to heartily recommend as a chew toy. I will probably stick with Nylabones and Kong toys from now on- but he did really enjoy it while it lasted!

When I first gave this to my 7 month old Corgi/Chihuahua mix, he just sniffed it and carried it around a bit. After a day or two though, he began attacking it, shaking it and chewing on it. It has now become his favorite chew toy! The con I see is that it does tend to shred a bit around the edges, occasionally leaving pieces of jute string. The stitching is very sturdy so I think its going to take him a long while to demolish it to the point where I'll have to toss it out. Definitely worth the sale price I got it for!

This was pretty cheap when I bought it so I don't feel bad that it's been torn apart. My dog is still playing with it but there are little pieces of rope on the floor so that's kind of annoying. My dog is a super chewer so I think this would be better for a smaller dog or a younger puppy.

I bought this for my middle-aged dogs and neither were interested, but my neighbor's Doberman puppy loves it. It has held up well for them.

I have both airedales and norfolk terriers. This is best for the small dogs like my norfolks. Within minutes, my airedale "stole" it from my norfolk and destroyed it. It is not a durable toy for a large dog.

Even though it smelled a bit odd to me at first (smell diminished with time), my guys like it.

My dogs do not like it very well. They show no interest.
