I have gone through 3 of these. I say gone through because they don't usually last more than one season, but if you figure in the fact that they are 1/3 the cost of other rope swing hammock, you are still saving money. The reason this doesn't last is the ropes are quite thin, but that is what makes it sooooo comfortable. I have tried others and they are terrible. The ropes dig into your back. I wouldn't want a canvas one because the air just flows through this one. It has provided a spot for many naps taken by my children, husband and me. We all fight over it and I really should get 5!

...each frame with a string swing with replacements; and also the chair swing type ....This is an extra great price at SIERRA TRADING POST and a comfortable, leisurely place to meditate, sleep, sway away, read the newspaper or a good book ..... Spend a bit of quiet time outdoors....etc, etc,..... dream on........ (the replacements are not because of weakness of any kind, but the frame is a life-long surviver. AT THIS PRICE, why not be sure the 'less durable than steel" will last indefinitely. .. or not?

So relaxing in the morning when I have a cup 'o coffee and go out with my newspaper or iPad.... to watch the trees and birds and annoy the birds building a nest inside my patio eaves. They scold me as I freely sway to the rhythm of the "string swing". A firm pillow makes a very comfortable seat and I sometimes rest my head on the back "cords" (really too heavy to be called strings)...and enjoy just being out alone (except for the scolding pair of birds). I bought two swings because the pipe holder is STRONG (also for sale at Sierra) and will last forever....and an extra swing at these prices is a great investment to make a happy swinger..for a long time ! Couldn't be happier, relaxing and swaying and sometimes reading and always enjoying being outside on a swing that is so easy to make work for me.

I should have known better. A tripod chair, what was I thinking. The chair is quality, the tripod, kind of. The main issue, the space. Set it up, take twenty sq ft. Buy a gravity chair. I look really cool in the garage alone, because there's not room for anyone else. Cookout is out of the question, you'd be alone because of your footprint. Granted, I reviewed the chair and the stand in one. Overall, if you are sitting around alone, great, if you want to talk to someone, don't buy.

it's understandable if it doesn't come with the stand, but it should clearly say that in the description and/or tell you how to order the stand

I actually haven't used it as it is the middle of winter right now. But I am very excited to set it up this summer. It looks very comfortable, well constructed, and pleasing to the eye.

I love this chair. I could not say enough about it. It is much more comfortable and durable than I was expecting. It was also really easy to set up. I wanted to get a fabric one because of the arm rests but we live in the mountains and it is very windy so rope is better. Your arms naturally rest in the chair. It may not work too well for really large or wider people.
