ABO Gear Tripod Shelter

This is a great shelter. Large enough to sit several people under it or over a picnic table. You def. need two people to set it up and don't use it when it's windy out.

STP always provides [...] excellent value.

I loved the design but found it to be rather difficult to set up and take down. We used it at the beach and when the wind picked up, the entire canopy almost laid down flat. We used sand bags but one of the poles split from the pressure caused by the wind. I feel it would best be used camping, a backyard gathering, or lake - but not best for the beach.

Overall a pretty nice shelter, especially for the price. It has some ability to be adjusted for sun direction but not a ton. Or I haven't quite figured that out yet. It is a little cumbersome to set up and I have a lot of experience with tents, perhaps I was just surprised at the amount of force needed. But I will continue to use this on my patio and for camping and the beach.

I was excited to see this shelter available. I had been looking for something like this for years. The down side is that it is a little bit heavier then I expected. It is very hard to set up on a breezy day and one of the poles broke the first time I used it. When calling for help the people were nice but had to tell them the same thing three seprate times before it was addressed. I am looking forward to trying again and hoping it will work.

We purchased this shelter to use at the beach. We practiced setting it up at home before we left to make sure we knew just how it went together. Easiest to put up with 3 people but manageable with 2. I don't think 1 person could do it alone. The shelter does say it is not to be used in windy conditions but on a typical day at the beach there are wind gusts on occasions. One of the poles on our shelter broke the third time we set it up when a gust of wind came up. We are talking with the manufacturer about getting a replacement pole. Shelter was very spacious and gave great sun protection.

Comes in a nice bag with instructions attached to bag. Doesnt work too well in high wind but does have built in sacks in the corners for sand which is a great design if you ask me. Once it is staked out it holds well.

Great for close to home recreational use. It's not a shelter I would depend on in the bush. In all fairness it's really not made for that or backpacking but at the price we paid I think it's a deal

It blows over in the wind pretty easily. So it needs to be tied down, or weighted. Fortunately there are pockets in the corners to put sand or rocks in to weight it down. It does require 2 people to set it up.

Good idea, but way too difficult to assemble and takes two people.
