ABO Gear Walkabout Beach Cart

Closeouts. Packing for the beach? Piece of cake with ABO Gear's Walkabout beach cart! The wide wheels won't get stuck in the sand, and all of your essentials pack inside the removable, collapsible composite crate. (Crate can double as a table for lunch time, too!)

There used to be a plastic equivalent, with a clever collapsible crate that is available from third party sources and a slightly smaller size that nests inside when only one is needed. SierraTradingPost's customer service people were unfamiliar and didn't really know the dimensions, but it looked compatible so I bought it. The tubing seems fairly strong, assembly instructions needed work and the crate seems to just sit on top, not really held down. If your beach is on the ocean, salt water might make it rust. Worth the closeout money. Probably didn't come from Australia, rather a large country on the mainland. Could have been a great product.

Lightweight, metal tubes will probably rust out in one season. The smell from the tires is terrible--don't leave the box in your house before you take it out of the box to assemble and don't store in an enclosed area.. Some hardware was missing. It is difficult to pressurize tires because the valve stems are so recessed . I got it on sale and it will do the job. I' do not recommend paying anything like the list price, it would have to be deeply discounted.

Like I said..I am in the shop making a real one that uses the general idea. All these things in this price range are pretty much junk.

It does ok with light items (aluminum chairs and a few beach towels). A heavy cooler with drinks and ice in it sinks into the sand (at least the soft sugary gulf coast sand) and must be carried.
