I have been ordering these for the men in my life the last three years. All of them wear these slippers pretty much year round. This pair is for my father - his are 2 years old and the insole is worn. He likes that he can go out for the paper or trash without putting on his shoes. My son goes t... Read More

Ordered both size 9 and 10. I usually wear a size 9 but after reading the reviews I was not sure they would fit. The reviews were bang on. I neeeded the 10. Other then sizing issue the slippers are well made, the sheepskin linner is warm and toasty.

I have owned multiple pair of these because they are functional. I was resigned to their always wearing out much sooner than expected. They are fine for the first few months, although sometimes a little too warm so to make your feet damp. Then the suede wears through quickly - sometimes the front, sometimes the heel, sometimes the sides - never the same pattern, but always the same result. Sierra Trading Post graciously replaced my last pair at no cost, but I'll never buy another pair. My daughter finally bought me a similar style from a well-known chain store. They are much higher quality, at a fraction of the cost of these even on sale. They have lasted three times longer. I probably can't identify the brand here, but don't waste your money on these Acorns.

Like all kids these days, my son weas mocs all the time at college. I think he rolls out of bed, throws on his sweatpants pants and mocs and heads to class. He is hard on them and wears them outdoors in Boston. That said, his first pair lasted a full year of pretty much continuous wear. Not sure if that is good, but if you think aobut it, these are slippers, not street shoes. He normally wears and 8.5 shoe, but these only started with a 9, but fit fine.

It may be the volume of the fleece when new but I recommend buying at least one full size larger than you normally wear. It'll be interesting to see how much it packs down over time. Right now they fit like a glove without socks.

  • Question “I wear a 10.5 Wide. Should I go up to an 11 or 12?”
Asked on 12/13/2009 12:00:00 AM by Bill from Columbus, OH
    • Answer Order up half a size from your regular size. You would want an 11.

    • Answer Yes, up a half size

    • Answer going up to an 11 should be fine. My husband also wears a 10 10.5 wide. I purchased him an 11 and they are good! They have plenty of width in them.

    • Answer Generally, especially for non-laceup shoes, that's not such a hot idea. If they don't slip on the heel right away, they will soon enough. And you CERTAINLY don't want to go up to a 12. That's really pushing your luck. Better to keep looking for a pattern that comes in a 10.5 Wide and end up with something you can wear comfortably for the life of the shoe. But remember we're talking about the size measurement from the back of your heel to the ball of your foot -- anything else, and all bets are off.

    • Answer There is quite a lot of latitude in these slippers once they break in. Get the 11; the width, even if you have Fred Flintstone feet like my dad, I think will be fine. If you wear them with socks they may be quite tight at first. Wear them sans socks and let them adjust to your feet. Then add socks if that is how you prefer to wear them. I ditch my socks as soon as I get home and put these babies on!

    • Answer Barefooted or wearing a thin sock- go with an 11. Otherwise go up. I'd start low and do an exchange if too small.
Answered on 12/19/2010 12:00:00 AM by Seamus from Ohio
    • Answer I wouldn't recommend it. I wouldn't say sizes run exceptionally large, but I vary between a 9 and 9 1/2 and the 9 size slipper was as big as I would want it. When in doubt, round down, in this case. Once the lambswool liner begins to wear I anticipate that the shoe will have even more room inside, and I wouldn't want it to slip off because I ordered to large.

    • Answer Yes, I did, because these moccasins run small. My son wears a 9. I bought him a 10 and they fit him perfectly.

    • Answer I would go up to 11. They run true to size. My son found them a little wide, but he has narrow feet.

    • Answer Hey Bill, the men in my family go up a full size. STP is good about exchanges if that turn out to be too big. YOu'll love these slippers!
Answered on 12/6/2011 12:00:00 AM by Kellergirl from Texas
    • Answer Yes, if you wear a 10.5 wide, you should go to an 11. The 12 may fit your width better, but may be too long. Depends on how wide you are.
Answered on 12/30/2011 12:00:00 AM by Kemosabe from Cleveland, Ohio
    • Answer Probably the size 12. The slipper runs small, plus there is all the shearling in the slipper, which takes up some space.
Answered on 1/3/2012 12:00:00 AM by Angie from CT.
    • Answer I wear a 9 wide. They're a tiny bit snug in the width but since they're leather I expect they'll stretch a bit over time.

  • Question “what size for a man who wears a men's 9 medium normally”
Asked on 11/29/2009 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from Unknown
    • Answer As noted in the product information of this item, please order a half-size up. For example, if you are a true 9, or slightly smaller, you can wear a 9 in this slipper. If you are a size 9 1/2, you will need to order a size 10.
