They fit true to size but I would not recommend them for a child with a wide foot like her brother has. She says they are comfortable. The first time she wore them for an extended period was at a Scout campout where she walked about 6 miles over 24 hours, including through heavy dew, and also ran around and played. Her feet stayed dry and did not get blisters. Although by the end of our trip she was complaining about being tired she didn’t ever complain about her feet hurting. They seem well constructed and nicely scaled down with a little bit of flexibility and arch support. Unlike many children’s hiking boots they are not too stiff or heavy. They had good traction on grass, mud and gravel.
