Overall it's a decent kit. Yes, most of the meds were expired, but that shouldn't be too surprising. I augmented the kit with additional wound care items (additional obs sites, steri-strips, etc) and a Sam splint would be very nice. But the price is good considering everything that is included and it's convenient for a base camp, car, boat, etc

I bought this kit to be used for backpacking with my family and as an emergency first aid kit for a 72 hour kit. I probably could have gathered together all the items in the kit. However, my time is precious and this kit saves me time, as well as money. I have started to read the marine medicene book that is included in the kit. It is not complicated and straight forward. If I was buying this kit, I wouldn't get hung up on the fact that it is a "marine" kit. All the same skills apply when dealing with emergency medicene. The only difference is that there is some specific "marine" related advice when dealing with emergencies at sea or in large bodies of water. It builds on the basic first aid skills that I learned as a Boy Scout with easy to follow diagrams and real world emergency first aid advice. I feel prepared having it and know that I'll have confidence if I have to use it.

Kit is advertised by Sierra Trading Post to contain SAM splints, it does not. Kit is advertised as waterproof, items are simply stuffed into ziplocks. Returned kit as defective due to lack of SAM splints, Sierra deducted freight both ways. Even at a discounted price you cound go to the local pharmacy for supplies and the grocery for ziplocks and be ahead.

It is a nice emergency kit and the sell price of [$] was great since the list price was [$]. Your ad was misleading since it appeared to be a MUCH LARGER EMERGENCY BAG, however for the money, I was satisfied. You should describe the size of the item so buyers will know that it is SMALLER.

Good basic kit with wide variety of items. Skimpy on routinely used items such as analgesics and band-aids. I added hand wamrers and space blankets for hypothermia.
