Adventure Medical Kits S.O.L. Survival Pack

The Good: compass- as good as it gets in a button compass. Heatsheet survival blanket- conforms to your body better than no-name brands. whistle-very light, small, ok volume. signal mirror- the lightest I've seen with an aiming feature. I have not tested it over long distances to see if it ok to carry one this small instead of the larger, much heavier models. The OK: duct tape-it is what is. Tinder Quick- you have to provide a waterproof container. vials the fish kit and matches come in- may be ok for your own packing purposes. The BAD: Fire Lite fire striker- 1/4" diameter piece of paper-based striker material. Too small. Waterproof matches- would not light on the striker or anything else. Fishing gear- a few small hooks, swivels and a wad of light monofilament I could not untangle. Most of the "fishing" vial is full of safety pins! The bag it comes in- the material is waterproof but the seams leak. Bottom line: OK to buy for the good items if the price is right. DO NOT BUY THIS, THROW IT IN YOUR PACK AND THINK YOUR COVERED.

compact and easy to carry

Good carry kit. Not enough to be hardcore (no fire starter other than matches), but enough in a pinch.

This is the near ideal kit for the mount. biker, hiker, climber, etc. that needs some security just in case bad things happen. It is far from complete and could use a cable saw and iodine tablets but otherwise is very useful.
