The Solo Kit is a fine little first aid kit--the waterproof bag is especially nice. There do seem to be extras of some items that are not as necessary, and others (such as painkillers) are very inefficiently packaged in large single-use pouches. Any serious hikers is certainly going to want to tear this apart and repackage it. The most amusing part of this product is its suggestion that this kit is good for "1-2 days" of use. How often do the Adventure Medical Kits people expect you to injure yourself each day? This kit is fine for one or two people for any length of trip, providing that one includes his or her own medication and isn't utterly accident prone.

The biggest problem for me is it isn't as pictured with the lightweight siliconized nylon pouch. I wanted this pouch because of it's lightweight attributes for backpacking. It was sent twice in a heavyweight nylon pouch, which is too heavy for my needs. I'm sure the contents were fine, but I sent them back before opening the inner bags. It would be great for camping or car travel.
