With a paddle that is very difficult to attach, there was no reason to keep it.

Quality looks good. This paddle was not accurately described, although the description has since been improved. I am clueless: don't know what "hard to attach" means. Mine features oversized 15% blade, not mentioned in listing. Offset appears to be variable +45,0,-45, and I could drill another hole wherever I like. Mostly, I can't fathom paying $279 list price for one of these, unless it came with an attractive galley slave. Oh, I don't have a boat yet.

I read the reviews before I bought this paddle that said that it was difficult to attach/detach. Well it is, but for the price savings who cares; It is such a sweet paddle. I have a bottle opener on my dry bag that pushes down the release in the middle and just like that the paddle is detacted. AT solved this problem with this year's version of the same paddle, but who wants to pay that much more if a bottle opener will do the trick.
