    Pros:
Beautiful paddle, Comfortable, Glides effortlessly, Graphite shaft is warm, Looks professional, So light weight
    Best Uses:
    Paddeling
    Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I paddle close to once a week @ several lakes including Lake Powell and Lake Mead. Have a Wilderness Systems Tsunami 12' and a Pungo 120. Have carpal tunal and hand issues, two surgeries. Paddle frequently, some long trips. Planned to spend $300-400 for a good paddle that doesn't hurt me. This one is great, no pain so far. What a difference the graphite shaft makes. My hands were always cold no matter what gloves I wore for winter paddeling. This shaft is warm. I am estatic with this paddle and the price. The trick is to get the right length for your boat so your hands fit the paddle in the right area where the bend is. I have 2 boats with different widths so went for the shorter paddle and it hit the boat. Exchanged for the longer and it is perfect for both boats. However I find with this paddle I can move my hands around and change from high angle to low angle strokes. Happy with this product. Thrilled with the price for great quality.

Paddle has a nice feel in hand but the 215 was just too short for the Pamlico 145T so we had to return.

  • Adventure Technology Ergo Tour T4 Kayak Paddle - Carbon TA Shaft, Oversized Blade
By aceyVerified Purchaser from Wisconsin on 08/16/2010

AT (recently purchased by Confluence - the company that also now owns Dagger, Perception, Wilderness Systems, Harmony, Wave Sport, and Mad River Canoes) makes some of the best whitewater paddles, but I'm less taken with its touring line. The paddle is quite heavy for a short carbon (shaft-only) model. The blade is convex on its power face, meaning it's designed to spill water. Some of the inefficiency is offset by its larger blade (15% more surface area is claimed) no doubt adding to the weight.

  • Adventure Technology Ergo Tour T4 Kayak Paddle - Carbon TA Shaft, Oversized Blade
By JeffVerified Reviewer from Virginia on 07/16/2010
    Pros:
Comfortable, Durable, Feathering, Lightweight, Two parts
    Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
This is hands-down the best paddle I've used - I use it with a 12' light touring boat, and it provides plenty of propulsion. The bent shaft is comfortable and more natural to use than a straight shaft, and it's really easy to adjust the feathering. It really doesn't weigh much at all, and the fact that it breaks down into two parts makes it easy to transport (though it's hardly worth mentioning since the majority of paddles are two parts). I try and be gentle with the blades, but they've taken some abuse from rocks on a few shallow-water runs. However, they've held up just fine, and I can't see any damage beyond simple scuff marks. It is one of the more expensive paddles on the market, but if you're a serious paddler, the extra amount is well worth it and you'll notice the difference.

This paddle performs great on whitewater. It is super strong and perfect for catching eddies and power strokes which are essential for whitewater paddling. The ergonomic design of the handle and the offset blades make your strokes feel like a natural movement. Overall, I am very pleased with the paddle. I had a Werner Sherpa in mind, but when I came across this paddle, I could not pass it up!
