    No, I would not recommend this to a friend
    I'm not exactly stocky at 5'9", 150 lbs. with a 29" waist, and these pants are snug. They will have to hold up extraordinarily well (last longer than 3 pairs of Wranglers) in order to be considered a real "value" even at this apparently discounted price.
