5.0 out of 5 stars. great fitVerified Buyer Reviewed by mm from MA on Friday, October 13, 2017My 2nd Ahnu shoes; I find this brand fits very well. These are slightly deeper than my first pair (a negative). Very lightweight; not particularly cushioned. Good aggressive soles.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Awesome choice!Reviewed by DLG from Idaho on Thursday, October 12, 2017I spent a couple of hours making a decision on these Ahnu Alamere hiking shoes versus some other high-end brands. Ended up choosing these as the cost was so much lower...and it was the best choice for me! I wore my regular size and had plenty of toebox room, even had to do a special looping technique on my left foot due to skinny ankles (I do this with my running shoes as well). So I wore them around the house for an hour, then pulled them out the next day (Oct 9) for a 6 mile hike in Vancouver, British Columbia. Covered big rocks, smaller rocks, mud, dirt, small and large slippery tree roots, climbed about 1600 ft and back down. No slipping, feet stayed warm and dry (though I did not submerge them), no “hotspots”, no blisters, no discomfort, and no tired legs. Traction was awesome and these have just the right amount of cushioning. Shoes remained in perfect shape, just a little dirty as good trail shoes should be.

2.0 out of 5 stars. not waterproofReviewed by tiduj from Colorado on Saturday, August 26, 2017I've had these shoes for 2.5 months and have worn it for walking and hiking. I really wanted to like them because they are indeed, comfortable. But they are not waterproof at all - just a short walk in damp grass, and my socks were soaked. The other problem is that just after 2.5 months the shoes look really worn. The purple parts on top where you put your foot in are torn.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Decent General Walking ShoeVerified Buyer Reviewed by Diane L. from Indiana on Wednesday, August 23, 2017I'm writing this review from the perspective of a person who is older and has preexisting foot issues. This shoe is decent. I bought it to wear while walking indoors at the YMCA, I wish it had slightly more cushioned support in the ball area of the foot. It feels a wee bit 'flat'. I'm not sure if it's my aging feet. I do know the other pair of shoes I own by another manufacturer does do a better job of support in the ball area of the foot. I'd say this shoe is good for general walking. For me, wearing the shoe past a 30 minute walk makes me aware of the less cushioned ball area.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Love these shoesVerified Buyer Reviewed by LS from California on Wednesday, August 23, 2017I wore these all summer so went ahead and got a second pair for backup. I have at least 6 pairs of Ahnu shoes because they are so comfortable. Just a note that this brand seems to run slightly small. The Alemere is great because it is both light weight and waterproof. The sole has pretty good traction and the shoe itself is pretty flexible, I didn't get any hot spots or blisters hiking in them. I really hope they keep this style in production.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Good choice for the priceVerified Buyer Reviewed by Jackie the YOLO adventurer from Illinois on Sunday, August 13, 2017I bought these for my daughter as a secondary pair for our Alaska trip. She wore them along with the weatherproof socks to the State Fair yesterday. She said they were comfortable but need to be broken in more. With the added socks she had not problems with blistering (2.5 miles walked) I would return to this brand again...the main appeal at the time were ratings and the price as she is continuing to grow.

4.0 out of 5 stars. A little shortVerified Buyer Reviewed by Gooutsidetoplay from Utah on Wednesday, August 9, 2017I wanted to like these but my toes are hitting the ends. They are comfortable, really lightweight, and nice looking. I may trade for a bigger size.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Lightweight, yet ruggedReviewed by LindaK from Idaho on Monday, July 24, 2017I am an avid hiker and had to switch from high top boots to low ones due to a swollen tendon above my heel. These boots are very light, have great traction and protect your foot well from sticks/rocks. They repel water well and dry quickly. For less than $40, you can't go wrong! The only reason I rated 4 stars instead of 5, was because the laces are too short. I bought some quicklaces since I can barely tie a knot and they work well.
