what I find interesting is sierra trading wants you to rate a product that you have had for a week. These boots seems to be well built but lets give them 6 months to a year and see how they hold up to hiking trips and archery elk hunting where I put lots of miles on a boot. My previous boot was a Perkfect hiker from cabelas which I really enjoy but they have hike the price up so I decided to try these after researching. I will post a review in 6 months and let you know what I really think.

This is my third pair of AKU boots. One thing I've learned is that AKU sizes their boots to match your normal shoe size. Usually you have to order a half size up to allow room for hiking socks, or to avoid banging your toes going down hill. My size 11.5 is Euro size 46. I was attracted by the claimed Air8000 breathability in the design. This seems to work, though I've yet to give them an extended workout. The boots are fairly stiff, up a half notch from my Asolo FSN95 boots. The sole does a excellent job gripping typical Colorado granite. Construction quality is excellent.

I was sick when my first pair of AKU boots wore out and the place I usually buy them from stopped carrying them. I tried other brands, exspensive ones too. I allways found myself comparing "the others" to my old AKU's. Its simple, the quality is all there. The stitching in extra places is what makes this the boot to buy. The comfort is excellent and didn"t require any break-in period. I'm in the woods alot and these boots are tough enough to keep my feet protected and dry. I will buy another pair!

I have been looking or quality light weight backpacking boots that fit a standard (wider) American size 10 for a while now. After looking at Scarpa Kailash, Asolo Fugitives, Lowa, Danner, Vasque and others, I gave these a try. These boots are my first from Aku and won't be the last. Got a size 10.5 and it fits great. The best part is the roomy toe box, toes are not crimped up like in other narrower Italian hiking boots. Quality construction throughout, good insoles, waterproof, lightweight and breathable.. everything I was looking for. Break in time was negligible.
