I also have serious knee pain issues and I needed light boots that are supportive and flexible. The arch is pretty good, ankle padding not restrictive, and although nice and roomy in the toes, my feet are not slipping around. I am so happy I found these. They feel warm, even though they are not insulated, I am fine walking on winter roads and trails. I bought these for light hiking and playing in the snow with the kids and daily walks on trails with the dog. And the two loops are great for easy pulling on!
