5.0 out of 5 stars. Great boots for strenuous hikeVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from California on Monday, November 2, 2015At first I thought the size run too small for my feet (I wear 9 1/2 US side and bought that size as suggested by customer service)...initially, it felt too small and didn't have much space for my toes but after about 2 months of heavy use in the hiking/trekking it started to fit perfectly. I guess it just take time for feet to break in to the boots. Now I am very content with it's durability and traction. Taking this to my Machu Picchu trek coming up.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Excellent light-weight hikerVerified Buyer Reviewed by Reviews from South East on Wednesday, October 28, 2015These boots are an excellent light-weight hiking boot, with top quality materials and workmanship. Fit is spot-on for me with regular weight socks, so if you prefer thicker hiking socks you may want to order one half size up. Soles are stiff but not overly so, probably best for hiking rather than backpacking. The Gortex waterproofing seems to work well, staying dry while allowing the boots to breathe. Little to no break in time. I liked them enough to buy an extra pair, couldn't turn down the sale price.

1.0 out of 5 stars. Absolute JunkReviewed by David from RMNP on Tuesday, October 20, 2015I LOVE AKU. Like really love their boots. I started with the Spider and even picked up a pair of Terrealte boots. To say these are bombproof would be the understatement of the decade. I've had my Spiders for 10+ years and they look like I just took them out of the box. The Terrealte's are incredible. Warm as can be and again, so tough, always looks brand new.
So, I am on my 3rd pair of AKU summer boots. These fell apart almost immediately. Seams opened up. AKU has this nasty habit of putting too much fabric on the inside of the tongue in summer boots. These fabric bunches up and starts to cut into the top of your foot. It's really wild. I don't believe summer and winter AKUs are made in the same country. That's how stark the difference is between the styles. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. The best boots I own!!Reviewed by Happy Camper from Michigan on Monday, October 19, 2015Not often I write an unsolicited review, but these boots are so good, like slippers inside with support that comes close to a ski boot. The outer sole is also shaped in such a way the boot rolls forward and literally puts a spring in your step. For the price I paid (under $100) they are not to be missed!

4.0 out of 5 stars. Excellent bootVerified Buyer Reviewed by Long work days from Pennsylvania on Monday, July 13, 2015I've been looking for a boot or shoe that I can wear everyday to the office. This AKU boot fits that bill. They are extremely comfortable and look good enough to wear in an office setting with jeans or khakis. They are amazingly comfortable. I have narrow feet and they fit me perfectly. The footbed has support that I've been having a difficult time finding in shoes and boots, lately. These are great boots at a great price.

4.0 out of 5 stars. nice fitVerified Buyer Reviewed by hiker from Southern California on Friday, June 19, 2015These boots fit very nicely out of the box, little break in required to feel comfortable. I have two other pair of AKU hiking boots one lighter and one heavier. This is a nice intermediate weight with fairly solid sole, but not overly stiff like my heavy pair. Only slight negative is that the actual footprint is slightly smaller that my other hiking boots of the same size. Not sure this matters much on hard surfaces.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Well Made BootVerified Buyer Reviewed by NW Cutter from PNW on Thursday, May 21, 2015Just received these and have worn them a few times. I like them enough I may order another pair. The fit seems to be true to size (I wear an 8.5 street shoe, I ordered an 8.5). They're light weight but have good support and a fairly rigid sole (which I like). I also like the more aggressive Vibram tread as I'm in loose rock most of the time. I've been an Asolo fan for a few years but the AKU may be my new shoe. I'm a heavy equipment operator (road building) I also hike a lot in the Cascades and Olympics so, a pair of good boots last me about a year.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Outstanding bootsVerified Buyer Reviewed by Dave from Minnesota on Wednesday, April 8, 2015I bought a pair of these AKU boots to replace a pair that I ordered that did not fit correctly.
These boots are appropriately sized/true to size, cushioned and comfortable to wear.
They also have a good solid heel with rigid support behind the ankles.
I cannot wait to give these their ultimate test hiking 9 days in southern Utah! -
5.0 out of 5 stars. Great shoe, great priceVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Minneapolis on Tuesday, March 17, 2015I bought these to replace a decades-old pair of Vasques that I walked all over the West in. These are quite sturdy, but became comfortable reasonably quickly with minimal break in. The insoles have conformed to my feet with about 20 hours of walking. Very secure Vibram soles walking in moderate snowpack. Might be on the warm side for summer use, but perfect for northern climate of Minnesota. Since I am almost 70, I don't anticipate having to replace these!
