3.0 out of 5 stars. Not for extended excursions.Verified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from California on Friday, May 5, 2017These boots felt sturdy out of the box and fit comfortably (with superfeet inserts). However, after 7 days in the snowy back country the waterproof seal layer along the bottom of the boot began peeling off. Trekking through snow and crossing numerous small streams (with gators), my socks were wet and toes cold, while my companions who had higher end boots (La Sportiva Nepal EVOs) had dry socks and comfortable feet.
If you want a medium end boot that you don't expect to put through the ringer, these will be fine with these, but if you're looking for something more rugged/durable for 4 seasons, I'd recommend paying more to invest in a higher end boot. -
3.0 out of 5 stars. Good boot for snow trails... Not mountaineeringVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from NJ - New Jersey on Monday, January 16, 2017Well-made and comfortable, but it's not built for mountaineering. Trails with these and ice spikes are great. Rugged mountain terrain with crampons you'll need a double boot.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Initial Impressions are GoodVerified Buyer Reviewed by Bama Hiker from Shiregrass of Alabama on Wednesday, November 23, 2016While I have not yet climbed in these boots, I did want to share some information to potential buyers. Based on the quality of the boots, materials, and initial wearing as my part of break-in process, I would rate these at least 4 stars (no 5th star until field performance test). The fit is true to size for my experience with the European to USA size difference (size USA 11). No problems attaching my crampons. These are very comfortable when wearing and walking and have good arch support. Toe area is a bit wider than I have experienced with most other boots. I purchased these boots for a future climb of two volcanoes (19K and 20.5K) in 2017. So far they have met my expectations.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Well made and comfortableReviewed by BennyG from Pa on Thursday, May 5, 2016I wore these boots for two winters. I use them as work boots around the farm. They held up great and as comfortable as ever. I was going to buy an other pair before they sell out, but I think they will hold up for another few years. The best boot I have ever worn, and I have worn everything.

5.0 out of 5 stars. AKU Terrealte Boot Excellent QualityVerified Buyer Reviewed by Haywire from North Carolina on Monday, February 15, 2016I ordered the boot with anticipation and trepidation. I have had trouble with Italian boots in the past as they must use bowling balls for heel molds. The AKU, however, fits great. I mostly hike back country and really like the rigid soles, for climbing steep inclines, and the additional ankle support. The lacing is superb and the tension stays where you want. The bottom sole provides excellent traction for descents in any terrain, climbing steep slopes, and balancing across logs. The top of the boot has a mini gaiter that will help keep out the debris. I have been on two hikes and I have full confidence in the boot and would highly recommend for backpacking and back country treks.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Excellent Hiking BootsVerified Buyer Reviewed by Every Saturday hiker from California on Friday, December 18, 2015feel a little bit bulky due to insulation. I've worn 5 times for day hiking range 8-10 miles. So far I like this shoes. I'll follow up in snowy condition.
