5.0 out of 5 stars. Great bootsVerified Buyer Reviewed by Bob from Atlanta on Saturday, January 13, 2018Bought these to replace some Asolo hiking boots that I had to trash since the material between the soles and the shoe itself had started to disintegrate. After a lot of shopping I settled on the AKU as I wanted something high quality and waterproof. The AKUs were very comfortable out of the box and fit true to size. They appear to be very well made (made in Italy). Very pleased with my purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars. They take abuse!!Reviewed by shermando from Vermont on Tuesday, November 28, 2017I climbed Mt Washington and 12 other mountains in New Hampshire and Vermont this year (2017) wearing the AKU's and I have to say they are comfortable out of the box, sturdy and can take the abuse of walking over miles of boulders and rocks. Highly recommend!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars. Comfortable bootVerified Buyer Reviewed by Jcrem1187 from Indiana on Thursday, November 9, 2017These AKU's are my first pair of hiking boots. I have tried many of the big name hunting boots in the past finally settling on Danner as my go to. Now that Danner changed the design of the Pronghorn boot I decided to look around for other options. After shopping and researching here on my recently discovered favorite website I decided to give the AKU Teton's a try. I wear a size 10 in most all of my shoes. Ordered a 10 and the fit was dead on. Craftsmanship looks great. Love the Vibram soles. Foot bed is solid and provides plenty of protection and support when on rocky terrain or sidehilling. I wish I would have had these boots on my last Idaho elk hunt. I feel confident they would hold up well in the rugged backcountry while being lighter than my normal hunting boots. Sturdy enough for long backpacking trips with 30-40 lbs. Wouldn't hesitate packing a large 80-100 lb load off the top of a mountain for shorter distance. I still can't believe that I found these on clearance with free shipping for $99.00. Thanks AKU and Sierra.

5.0 out of 5 stars. The best footwear I've EVER owned.Reviewed by KittenMittens from Oklahoma on Thursday, November 2, 2017These are just a pleasure to wear.
Absolutely true to size in my experience, I wear an 11 in most shoes and have rather wide feet, require wide in most popular tennis shoes.
Minimal break in.
Incredible workmanship.
Italian made boot, even has a leather tag on tongues with a specific number for each pair.
You won't find better for the money, I'd have gladly paid the full ~300$ for these if I had to.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Light and stoutVerified Buyer Reviewed by Kevin from Minnesota on Saturday, October 14, 2017These boots are well-made all around, and surprisingly light for how supportive and tough they are. The footbeds are quite thin and I replaced them immediately, but that was the only downside.

5.0 out of 5 stars. much better than I expectedVerified Buyer Reviewed by Chris from blue ridge mountains on Wednesday, April 19, 2017I've had a chance to wear them? for a few long days of cleaning? up my mountain property. Trekking up and down my hills and thru dirt and debris all day, carrying branches and rocks around all day.
My feet felt great all day. No fatigue, no blisters, no hot spots, just a few great days of happy feet.
They felt a little strange at first, reminiscent of ski boots actually. Molded to force/keep your feet and ankles aligned I guess. It took about 10 minutes of walking in them around the house to get used to how they feel.
I wasn't sure the price would be justified, but I would actually buy a pair at full price now that I know how great they are.
Highly recommended.
