AKU Teton Hiking Boots

Excellent build quality. No surprise here for an Italian made boot. I normally wear an 8.5 2E but the D width fit perfectly with plenty of volume, even wearing medium weight socks. The real surprise was that these AKU's needed no break-in. No pressure points, hot spots or abrasions. They are comfortable with very good cushioning. I slid in a pair of Superfeet insoles. The factory insoles may have been okay but I've just had pretty good luck with the Superfeet. The boots have excellent support even with my high arches. This is odd since I don't seem to get quite the arch support with the Superfeet insoles when used in other hiking boots. The bonus was the price I paid for an Italian made boot, the quality, fit, and comfort. The Tetons are nice and supportive without being too stiff, and while I don't do any backpacking I feel they would perform well with carrying a medium weight pack. These are now in my rotation along with my Asolos, Alicos, and Zamberlans. Boots which work really well for me. You won't be disappointed.
