I have now had these boots long enough to have an informed opinion. I wore them on a two hour hike the first time out of the box, and they were as comfortable at the end as when I first put them on. Support is excellent. Traction is excellent. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Excellent boot for intermediate hikes. Like other AKU boots, these are well suited for what they are made for. Not quite as heavy duty as the Utah Lite or Micro, but more supportive than most midweight boots. As midweight boots go this offers better construction and better materials than most. The workmanship is top notch. The boot offers lots of toe wiggle room and extra length so you don't have to lace them extra tight when walking downhill. I would recommend this boot for someone who is new to hiking as it's comfortable and light with good support and will work well for a broad range of hikes and should last a long time. I would recommend it for anyone for day hikes or backpacking with lighter loads.

Just getting used to these boots. My outdoor season has not started yet but the quality is better than my last pair of Keens. Good for in and out of the plow truck, my feet are dry all day. They should be just the ticket for the summer.

AKU is always at the top of my list of favorite boots, usually harder to find. This boot was no exception. Extremely comfortable out of the box. Great for all day long hikes, 12 plus hours. I would recommend these to anyone wanting a reallynice boot, not too heavy and great support.

Handmade in Romania! Gortex fabric and Vibram sole is hard to beat. They run small. I normally wear size 9, but had to do 3 exchange and got a pair of 8 in the end and they fit perfect. A bit narrow at the toe box, but either they stretched or my feet got used to them within a day. The Gortex did a great job keeping my feet dry! My toes got super cold while snow camping, so I poured boiling hot water on these boots and in a few minutes my toes got warm again and still dry! I've only had these boots for a week, so I can't comment on durability, but they seem to be solid and i'm expecting them to last a long time. Highly recommended.

The boots are being used for hiking and will also be worn for grouse hunting.

I got these in size 9 (my normal shoes size), but had to exchange for a pair of 8.5. The pair of 8.5 came yesterday, but it too was still too big, so I'm exchanging for a pair of 8. Hopefully, the pair of 8 will fit correctly. The toe box is narrow, but not terribly uncomfortable, my feet got used to it in a few minutes. The shoes seems to run a bit long. My feet fit well inside the shoes except for there is a lot of space in front of my toes. Other than the shoes running a little big (long), and has a narrow toe box, the shoes seem to be solidly built. I mean, how can you beat Gortex fabric and Vibram sole and is handmade? I can't wait for my pair of 8 to come in.
