So, this has been a ten year journey to replace my Raichle hikers- and I am thrilled. I cannot tell you how many pairs of fine boots I have bought and returned.

30 years ago I bought a pair of Raichle boots from EMS, put them on and was in heaven for 20 years of trekking. At 15 years, the soles c... Read More

I rarely write reviews. I always read them, but struggle to get back and write. EXCEPT these boots. Note: I am not outdoorsy at all. Seriously.

Sizing--I listened to the other comments. I'm a tried and true 7 1/2 and ordered an 8 1/2. Perfect fit. Thought I'd have to break them in, so I wore them through the city a month before my trip to walk the dogs. I didn't need any break in time at all. It was amazing.

Boots were for a 7 day hiking/yoga trip in Yosemite. 5 mile hike in. I probably only made it through the trip *because* these boots are so perfect.

Now, these aren't the sexiest boots. Other girls had quasi-gym shoe high-top things, but i felt a little cooler/old school in these.

They're comfortable and waterproof and instantly ready to wear. And the speed laces made in/out a breeze. I don't know what else to say. Get them!

I hiked five miles over rough terrain the first day I wore these boots. The boots were completely comfortable, needing no break-in.

They caught my eye because of the way they looked, but I waited, researched, read things, waited. Finally I ordered them and I love them. They fit great, feel great, look great. Did a 6 mile hike out of the box and had no hot spots, no issues. Love them.

The boots fit nicely. I am a true 7.5M and they were right on the money. Comfortable and nice looking. However I am needing a boot with a stiff sole that does not bend as you raise your heel forward. These boots were stiff but as soon as they were broken in they would make the crease behind and below your toes. I have hallux rigidus and the less they bend the better my feet are. I could tell with 3 laps around the office that they were getting more flexible and bending under the forefoot increasingly. Had to return them but only for that reason.

    • Answer The best thing to do is call STC. They are super helpful on the phone and the wait is never long. They carry Alico boots all the time so I'd suggest asking them.

    • Answer i used the STP conversion, my boots were listed as a 7 1/2, the cm isn't in the boots and I recycled the box, but I will say I literally just returned for a half mo in Alaska hiking in the interior and these boots were awesome! The footbed is generous so you can use good smart wool sox, they are the most comfortable I've ever worn and really are worth every penny! I'd suggest ordering a couple of pair and just return one, they are worth the effort. They do run a bit generous according to the conversion but I love the way they fit and feel!
