Perfect Off-trail Boot

I'm a forester and wildland firefighter and I'm in the woods, off trail, everyday. In my profession you need sturdy, durable boots that provide protection for your feet and ankles from rocks, sticks, briars, roots and any other kind of things you find off trail. These fit the bill and then some. Some reviewers have called these boots heavy, but I suspect they aren't using them for their intented purpose. I don't notice the weight at all. They are stiff when brand new and will take some time to break in, but that is the sign of a durable, tough boot. They will be great for traversing side hill and on rocky slopes. They are superbly built and look great too. I like the height of the cuff, it is 8" from the ground. It has a low heal which I prefer. The double tongue is also padded to provide comfort when walking up hill (no white's bites!!!) Kudos to Sierra Trading Post for providing such a quality product.
