Great boots for hard terrain

Reviewed by OEJ from Eugene, OR on Wednesday, June 6, 2012
I use these boots on hard snow and rough conditions. They're excellent for kicking steps in snow, for glissading, crossing broken and uneven rockfields. But because of the shape of my foot the wear strip inside the back of the boot tends to peel skin off my heel. Lacing the uppers loosely helps, as does careful sock choice. But I've learned to put athletic tape on my heel before long uphill climbs. Other than that, which is a personal anatomy problem, the boots are stellar. One guy told me, "Hey! I didn't think they even MADE leather mountain boots anymore!" Alico does, and they're good ones. I also own a pair of Tahoe boots by Alico, and they're good too.
