These boots are very comfortable. I bought a pair of Superfeet green insoles to replace the stock ones. With the new insoles, the boots provide great arch support. The boots are heavy so not my favorite for long hikes. They do provide the best protection short of something with a steel toe. The leather is treated and so they are water resistant and water beads off the Leather, but not the seams. but a coat of Sno-Seal or Huberd's Shoe Grease could make them truly waterproofed. Huberd's is excellent for rainy weather conditions by the way.

Normally a standard width but purchased a wide due to avaliblity and pricing.. very comfortable regardless, their still softening up but the break in has been easy. I've been wearing them everyday to class for 2-3 weeks, they have always kept me warm and dry and they look great!

These are well made boots. The fit is just right. I wore them around the house for the weekend before I wore them in the mountains. They are a little stiff out of the box, but not bad. They don't need much of a breakin period. I like the Summit model the best of the 3 boots STP offers. The Guides are good for sidehill walking, great ankle support, just a little much for most needs I have. The Tahoes are great around town boot, just not quite up to the Summits for long hikes and where you need more ankle support. Also Summits are leather lined where the Tahoes are not.

Very happy with purchase, had to exchange first pair- staff very helpful-great return policy. These boots are the greatest! The insoles are not very good, but replace with superfeet greens and they can not be beat.

If you are looking for a full leather (no gortex), norweigian welt, vibram soled boots these are a great alternative to the much more expensive US built boots. Still breaking mine in but expect a long, happy ownership experience.

My wife convinced me to finally get a good quality pair of boots (all my previous boots wore out quickly). These seem very durable, but are a bit stiff. However, I'm sure they will wear well.

These are very good boots. Hardly any break in. They are heavy and I've stood in a pond with no leaks. Don't recommend that but it was necessary. Have warn them daily for the last two weeks both in town and in the outback. They feel a bit wider than I expected but are not too roomy. The ankle support is some of the best I've encountered.

Love em! Add some nice insoles with the money you saved buying these boots and enjoy hundreds of comfortable, luxurious miles! I found the break-in period to be on par with other high quality all leather boots and actually pretty comfy right out of the box. The leather liners in these bad boys are awesome! After a few good long hikes these fit like a glove!! The workmanship and quality of leather is outstanding. The insoles and laces that come with these boots are pretty weak, so I swapped 'em out for some Superfeet insoles and relaced 'em with a length of para cord and they are perfect! I expect to get many years out of these Alicos. Fantastic boots!!

I wanted to get boots that could go anywhere and would last me for a decade or more (I'm sick and tired of throw-away boots with glue-on soles). These fit the bill, and a love them more and more each time I take them for a tromple or hike. Going along steep inclines and rocky areas, they feel like I've got hooves. Sure, they're a bit heavy and stiff, but the workmanship is first class, the boots feel as solid as could be...and the look is actually growing on me. Plan on paying for a nice set of insoles, though. The stock ones really have very little arch support, padding, or general comfort. It brings the cost up a bit, but with the markdown and the deals one can find around, the boots are really golden.
