I now own and have used all three alico boots offered at sierra - Summit, Tahoe and Guide. I have hiked at least 200 miles in each style from steep to flat, soft to rocky, wet and dry. These boots were clearly made by very experienced professionals and the workmanship of these Italian cobblers is si... Read More

I've had the Tahoe's big brother, the Summit, for quite some time; the Summits are super boots, but a bit more heavy-duty than I need since relocating. These Tahoes are lighter, yet nearly as substantial. I can think of no conditions where these won't suffice, and the noticeably lighter weight is a boon on longer hikes -- no "pendulum effect" on the legs! Great fit, too. Only demerit is that one boot is slightly darker than the other; I'm pretty sure no one but me will notice, so 5 stars it is!

Quality seems excellent on these boots.

I was sized for 11D in Allen Edmonds dress shoes and I ordered an 11 of these at first. I have a pair of LLBean Katahdin boots in 10.5 which fit great. The 11 felt good but after walking downhill I realized it was a little snug in the toes, and was concerned about toe problems during long hikes. I sized up to 11.5. I thought it was perfect at first but after hiking in them and climbing on boulders I realized there was way too much volume. I got high volume superfeet insoles but that only takes up volume around the heel.

I just hope it will get better as they break in but I'm disappointed that a half size up felt so much wider and cavernous.

This is a solid lighter duty hiking boot. Breaks-in in days, nice craftsmanship and construction. Runs a touch large.

excellent quality, but they are stiff and need a little breaking in. The leather is high quality. The boots are a bit heavy. Would definitely protect one against a sprain.

This is my 3rd pair of Alico's and so far so good. I have the summits and backcountry. Back country's I blew up in 2 months. Summits I have had for about 5 or 6 years and won't quit. I am relatively hard on boots. The summits are awesome, but to heavy for everyday use. Tahoe's are the perfect weight. I wear them for work in a big box retail store working on concrete floors. They also get used for landscaping and just going out with the family. Stitched sole is nice. Good luck
