Alico Tahoe Hiking Boots (For Men)

Very durable. I've owned a pair of Alicos for 16 years and still not worn out. Used heavily every hunting season.

These boots are great. I am on my second pair because they are my backup boots. They are comfortable and I can wear them all day on any terrain. They have been on mountain trails and construction sites with equal success.

Haven't worn the boot yet. But really like the loods and plan to wear as a "dress" boot for awhile.

Save money-buy good boots! These are both. I found that the sizing ran large when compared to shoes but was comperable to other high-end boots, i.e. "Whites" etc. I ordered a wide, toe box is adequate, and the instep does not sag nor is the collar to large. The traditional stiff steel-shank is great, they feel like "real" boots, very comfortable and supportive. Extra weight is not noticeable. Removable insole lets boots air out well at the end of the day. If they ever wear-out I will buy another pair even if that's at full-price. The smooth leather boots polish well if that is a consideration.

Simply awesome. I lamented the fall of the Vasque sundowners, but this is an superb replacement that goes more than a few steps beyond the Sundowners in all respects. After I got the first pair, I loved them so much that I got scared that should I ever wear them out, I might not be able to get another pair - so I bought another pair to keep on hand. I also have a pair each of the Guide and the summit. These boots are like an artform as much as they are a serious backpacking and hiking boot. You will feel a sense of aesthetic pleasure when you remove them from the box. They are simply AWESOME. I have not taken the Tahoe on an expedition yet, but I wore the Summit for 60 rugged miles in Montana last year, and they are simply unbeatable. No blisters after a brief break-in period. Very durable. The tahoe is perfectly true to size WITH A THICK SOCK ON. Which is to say that it runs like maybe a quarter size big. My advice is to get your foot formally measured and buy exactly that size and wear a nice thick sock with the boot. I e-mailed every hiker I know when these went on sale again. My best hiker buddy, also dissatisvied with his new sundowners also ordered TWO pair. He and I have really put our money where our mouths are - between us we own 6 pairs of Alico boots. You won't be disappointed in this boot! you'll want to order a back-up pair!

Due to feet problems, I have had a difficult time finding hking boots that would accomodate my orthodic inserts. These have exceeded all of my expectations. They were comfprtable right out of the box.

Seem to fit ok with heavy socks. Added a couple of saddle soaping to incread pliability. Have worn for a week and still breaking in. Don't plan on wearing them for a long hike right out of the box. Allow break in time.

I like these boots because of the comfort and they are not too heavy to wear all day on the trail. Throw in some Superfeet insoles and it's an awesome boot.

These classic all leather hikers are beautiful! This style is the lightest weght boot of the three Alico's STP is selling right now. The light weight makes them very appropriate for everyday use and they are still stout enough for serious hiking with a light load. I expect that they are not waterproof, but can be treated with any of the several products available to make them so. Once treated, they will be appropriate for wet weather wear. I had a very similar pair to these (from a hiking specialty retailer) that lasted throgh three pairs of soles. I expect that these will perform similarly. I did have to return them to get a cosmetically perfect pair[...]!
