I used this pair of boots for the first time on a 4 day mountaineering trip. I did not break it in and had no issues. My pack was probably 40 pounds. I went through creek and snow and had minimal/no water seepage. The only dampness was probably the snow that fell in from the tongue. I wear between a size 7 - 7 1/2. From the recommendations some say that I should get a 1/2 size bigger. I got an 8 and was too big so I swap it for 7 1/2. It is a little too big but it was OK as I was wearing thick wool socks. I recommended a pair to my friend and 2 of my hiking friends have Alico and love them.

I bought these to use before the snow fell, but they did not come in time. I wore them on a short 3 mile hike in light snow and they were very slick on a packed trail. Better traction with loose snow. Will be great for spring and fall hiking. Comfortable right out of the box. I won't be sending these back!

Bought these boots as protective and waterproof gardening footwear. They are awesome! So comfortable on the first wear - I was disappointed the gardening was finished and I had to take them off!
