Almost identical to my old Raichles that finally gave out after the hike out of the Grand Canyon. They are heavy,but they fit my foot better than any I've had. I have a bone spur on rt.big toe and they have enough room not to rub. The old style vibram sole really sold them for me and the stitched not glued sole should last a long time.

The break in seems long compared to regular shoes but average for hiking boots. I have to wear thick socks or a double pair to prevent ankle slipping but I have narrow ankles.

Question “The women's US 9.5 is slightly small for me and there is not any US 10 women boots avialable. How does the fit on the men's boot compare? Is the size difference really 2 sizes small (womens 10 = mens 8)? How does the width of the mens D compare to the width of the womens? Are there other main differences in fit?”

Answer Going down two sizes is generally the rule of thumb. The medium (D) width of the Men's will also be slight wider then that of the women's medium width

Answer The lining in the Alico Tahoe Hiking Boots have a Dry-Lex leather lining.

Question “is it suggested to order a half size smaller for thick socks or because it runs small? the reviews are not very clear. i don't want a boot that is too big and i don't wear thick socks when i hike.”
