I will be using these boots for hiking. I haven't worn them out yet so I can not tell you how they are. I did go up a 1/2 size which now I find them perfect. My husband has a pair from last year. After trying so many boots that didn't fit, I decided to give these a try since my husband is very happy with his. I think I will be too!!

They would had been good boots if they are sized correctly. The product description indicates that the boots run small and to order 1/2 size larger. I usually wear 6.5, so I ordered size 7. They are HUGE - perhaps they are Men's size 7!

Out of the box these boots are comfy and beautiful. The simplicity of the design sets them apart from all of the high tech moon boots that are popular for hiking. Yet a close inspection of the construction of the boot shows high quality and care that will last for years. Lots of ankle support, but I don't feel like my foot is in a vice grip. The leather is a deep brown and the boot has some bulk, but is slimmer and less hefty than my old hiking boots and many others I have tried on. While they are definitely bulkier than most "fashion boots" that are popular as of late, I think I may just push the limits and pair them with a skirt or shorts and go out on the town or out on the trails. I've only worn them around the house, so I'll update this review after I get them nice and dirty.

Beautiful boots, looked great. But online catalogue will tell you that the boots run small and to order 1/2 size up. So I brought in a size 10 for my 9-1/2 feet...swimming in them! [...] I was disappointed and mystified. [...]

A classic backpacking boot; beautifully crafted, comfortable, durable but relatively light. Very slightly small for size; I ordered a half-size larger than mine as recommended, which is perfect. I'll use them happily for years.

Extremely comfortable out of box. Fit is as perfect as it can get for me: I have a wide foot. They are an old school heavy boot that blogs are written about lasting for 15 years. This is a boot to make you proud.

My greatest disappointment was this pair turned out to be a man's size 7 and way too big for my feet of course. I still gave it all the stars etc because if you find this boot in your size, it is an incredible fit, exceptionally well made boot.

These beauties went on my feet immediately and I've used rain as an excuse to wear them for my work commute. There was no breaking-in period. None. I took Sierra's advice and bought a half-size larger, 9.5, and they feel very comfortable, with wiggle room in the toe box as long as I'm wearing thinner merino socks. I got the smooth dark brown, not the nubuck. Quality boot but already a toe-scuff. Doesn't matter to me. These boots are going to get a lot of wear. By the way, they are already treated so don't add waterproofing. These babies are warm, dry, and good to go.
