If form follows function, then these boots lead the pack. They look great, fit me perfectly, are comfy, supportive, and protective. I use them mostly as work boots so they get pretty abused 8 hours a day. Tried another brand but they wore out in 6 months. Alico's can give me 3 years worth of service under the most demanding conditions. Hopefully they will continue to be available at STP in the future.

Now that I've properly treated these with Snoseal and broken them in (it took a solid month), they are the best hiking boots I've ever had. Bomber, so comfortable and good looking, too. The leather liner makes them kinda warm, but that's just the ticket for me in the wet, cold PNW. I look forward to having these for many, many years and hope they never stop making them.

Beautiful boots but a tad too big. Returned them with the hope they'll get another batch and I can order a ½ size smaller. Didn't wear them outside the house so cant comment on performance, but they remind me of the boots I wore and loved 30 years ago.

After having the toe cap go out on a couple of backpacking boots I was looking for a 1 piece leather boot. The Alico fits the bill and then some. The craftsmanship is top notch and I can see these lasting for many years to come. As they're leather they need to be weather treated and the break in period is rather long but you'll be rewarded with a boot built like a tank that is suitable for those week long heavy backpacking trips.

I've worn mine now several times a week for six months in a variety of weather and terrain, but not for more than 7 miles at a time. They're very SOLID boots. They are also very HEAVY boots, 4 lbs. 2 oz. for mens size 11, heavy enough to question their suitability for backpacking. For someone who's on a really rough surface all day (think talus or cobbles), the stiff soles are great. I checked "true to width," but I think they're a tad wider than other D widths I own. They required significant break in. Size and comfort benefited hugely from Montrail Enduro insoles (another $30). All that said, I'm glad I bought 'em. The old-school design is part of their appeal.

As long as they keep making them, I will continue to buy them. I have run four pair of these into the ground and continue to use them for a combination of Northeast hiking and timber work. If you like a full leather boot that forms to your foot these are the ones. No frills but that is the beauty.
