The Alite Shifter Backpack is just as awesome as I hoped it to be. I use it for grad school and commuting. It's super roomie and the open top allows for extra space. The straps and mesh backing makes for comfortable use even when it's stuffed to the brim. I also really like the design and purple/yellow (interior) accents. Only note is the black isn't as black as pictured.

My boyfriend and I both have the Alite Shifter 31L bag and absolutely love them! He is a bike commuter and can stash all of his necessities so easily in this bag! There are so many convenient pockets in this bag that makes it easy to keep everything organized. We are both excited to use ours when out hiking this summer as they are so far the most practical and stylish bags we own!

it is a good design backpack. However, it is too big for me, and I have to return it.

I bought this pack for my 14 yr old son who just started high school. He rides his bike so I wanted a good waist belt and plenty of room for books, lunch, sports equipment/clothes etc.. I am super picky and looked at tons of packs. This pack is very durable, yet lightweight. I like that reflective material is sewn onto the shoulder straps and that the pack has a light loop for a bike light. The water bottle pocket is deep and wide enough for any sized bottle and is made of the same durable material as the rest of the pack (this is great for my son as he tends to slam his pack down and consequently has torn through previous pack's water bottle pockets that were made of mesh or stretchy nylon). He picked the black color. The inside is bright yellow which is not only cheerful, it makes it easier to see things at the bottom. This company obviously prides itself in making original products. I am impressed with the thoughtfulness of the design and the aesthetics. My son thinks it's cool looking too. Tag states that it was ethically made in Thailand.

My daughter is thrilled with her new backpack. It has plenty of storage and convenience features, including the easy-open top, and handle on the front for picking it up in the prone position. It is adjustable and comfortable. Only complaint is that the side bottle pocket is narrow and can only fit a small bottle.
