    No, I would not recommend this to a friend
    Shoes are narrower in the toe box than other loafers by the same company (Allen Edmonds). Despite being a D width (my husband usually wears a B) the toe box is too narrow for comfort. He has many other pairs of shoes from this company, but usually does not have trouble with the fit. Not sure if a larger size would help (he wears a 16 already), or if this is a design flaw.

    Alan-Edmonds are best fitted at a shoe store. I have 3 pairs of AE shoes, and every size feels slightly different. Perhaps that's why they end up at STP at a cut rate price. Example: With AE, 9.5 M translates to a 9 W )...true with this loafer.
