Reviewed by BHealthy from new england on Wednesday, March 23, 2016I needed a boot with a waterproof foot to wear when I slog my way to the mailbox (100 yards from the house), take out the trash, or get caught in the rain while shopping. These are only waterproof up to the seam around the ankle, which is good enough for me.
They're a little more on the stylish side than hiking boots, which I like. I have several pair of hikers and they're too heavy for everyday wear. The only thing I don't like is that the sole is a bit stiff so I'm clomping around. I hope that goes away once I wear them in.
These are light enough, and comfortable enough, to wear around the house, which I am currently doing. They're a little too chunky to wear with a skirt but they're perfect with leggings.
I normally buy a size 7.5 so I'll have room for an insole and heavy socks. These have enough padding in the sole that I don't need an insole. I don't think there is room for an insole now, so they do run a bit small.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Occasionally dressy, more often a woodsy hiker from Massachusetts on Monday, February 29, 2016Stylish, yet comfortable and practical, to boot :-)! Before buying, I read someone's review saying the zipper had broken. If unzipping the zipper, I find that it can catch on the internal gusset that seals the lower portion of the boot against external moisture. This gusset ends at the ankle. If the zipper catches, reach inside and coax it carefully over this spot. That requires some patience and dexterity, without which the zipper might break. These boots kept me warm on a 0 F degree day even though I wore only thin socks and had to stand quietly for a half hour at least. They are comfortable to walk in. Knowing what I know, I'd buy them again.
Reviewed by clothes horse from pa on Tuesday, December 22, 2015Like the other reviewer says, these are really more a fashion boot with grit! The lace up part is not solid and though you use the zipper to get in and out, snow and slush could get in the lace up part. I am a solid nine and trying these on with trouser socks, there is no room for more sock and the right one is definitely tight. That said, I really like them and even at 90 will probably keep them b/c larger size not available and Mephistos are forever.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Mtrio60 from Schenectady, NY on Saturday, November 7, 2015I was looking for a heavy duty winter/rain boot, thus the "Allrounder" title, but they fit more like a fashion boot that you'd wear with tights or thin leggings. The calf is tight fitting and the height is strange - Mid calf boots don't do anything for me. They were loose around the ankles, but that was the only place.and were a half size to small. For $90.00 there better be more leather and sturdiness to them and there wasn't.
