These seem very comfortable and warm, although I haven't had a chance to use them skiing yet. These are European size 38 and I normally take a 36 or 37, so they seem to run a bit small.

The product description said, "Compatible with NNN bindings only." I'd add, "They are not compatible with NNN-BC (backcountry) bindings." The good news is that I now understand that not all NNN bindings are the same.
I think I would have loved these boots -- but they are designed for the narrower NNN binding, not the wider NNN-BC. Lessons learned. They were very comfortable and had the snug fit I was looking for. I liked the zip-up outer gaiter and the overall look of these boots as well. Now I'm shopping for the backcountry version.

These are warm boots outside, although not hot. The boots are comfortable, and I really like the zip to keep the snow out. I would say they are a little on the small size, although I could still wear them. I usually wear a ladies 6 1/2 to 7, and so got a 38 in these boots - they fit more like the 6 1/2 size.

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
ankle strap eroded the zipper teeth causing zipper failure after about 45-50 outings. boot still funcitions, but snow and ice packs the laces and make it difficult to ski and make it difficult to get off. this is the second pair of tr 50s i have had with quality problems. the first pair had the eyelits pull out of one boot. boots used mostly for touring

Didn't know much about Cross-country skiing equipment but researched it on the net and went to a retail store to try on boots for sizing. I estimated I needed size 37 in the Rossignol brand. Was going to buy a new discovery set but decided to buy used. When I purchased the skis, I told them to put on NNN bindings, praying to find boots for that binding as they didn't have my size in the store. I searched STP and found these. I wear a 5 1/2 shoe and my foot runs narrow. However, cross-country boots are not adjustable like downhill boots and they don't make them in narrow widths from what I could find. These boots fit great out of the box except for the left boot being super tight around the ankle. I couldn't initially zip it all the way up. The internal lacing helps size the boot closer to the foot which helps if you have narrow feet. I stretched the left boot ankle area by gently pulling on the fabric a little and when I went to my ski lessons, I was able to zip it up without too much hassle. The boots held up well even though I fell a few times and broke one of my poles. I'm not sure these would work for someone with a wide foot. Anyhow, even though I had older, used skis with new Rotefella NNN bindings and used poles, the new boots made the set look great. The boots are blue and gray which coordinated well my skis and poles. These are a great buy. I checked other websites/stores, and these can run about twice the price. I'm really happy with the purchase.

So comfortable I wore them around the house when an old foot injury started kicking up. The support and cushiony comfort is amazing with zero break-in time. My foot actually started feeling better after a few hours. Can't wait to try them in the great outdoors! Awesome construction! They actually are pretty on my feet!

My wife is brand new cross-country skier, and these were a Christmas present to her. After taking them Christmas afternoon, she reports that they are quite warm (which was a critical element for boots for her), pleasantly adjustable, and all together comfortable. She said they fit slightly big, although that may be more due to the thin socks...which, really, is not bad considering how warm they were with little more than liners. Good flex, and solid attachment to her skis. And hard to beat the price for a product of this quality.
