This thing is HUGE!! I'm 6', 250lbs, and I have plenty of room to move around and get comfortable. Sits up pretty high, but doesn't feel precarious. I just got it, so we'll se how it fits in my tent, but it should be fine. The only minor gripe I would have is the STRONG chemical smell right out of the box. It should should be good after a little airing out, though.

The Alps Mountaineering Camp Cot is everything advertised---large, comfortable, and easy to use. It is not for backpacking, but is a CAMP cot, just as described. The cot is easy to set up and take down (I set it up in the dark the first time I used it.) It packs well in its case and fits easily in with other gear. I read some other reviews before buying saying that these cots are unstable. The cot does have a slight end to end sway, but I had to almost try to get this effect. It is very wide and takes up a large amout of floor space, but more than makes up for this in comfort. Like they brag about on the mattress commercials---I awoke with no back pain. My only problem is the height. It is not comfortable to sit on as my feet just reach the ground (I'm 5'10"), and the somewhat sharp side rails dig into the back of my legs. However, this is a minor inconvenience when compared to the comfort the cot provides. It also appears to be fairly sturdy and will likely hold up if treated well. I have and will recommend this product to friends.

Too big and heavy for pack-in camping. Good for taller people. Nice and roomy and well off the floor.

I will use this product for overnight camping trips because I like to be up off the groud when sleeping outside. This cot is large and allows room for my dog to lay at my feet! I can also store flashlights, bug wipes and other items that are easy to grab from the pouch provided located under the cot. This cot will also be used for family members as I only have one extra bed. Now my sister won't have to sleep on the couch! Wish I had this cot after the E5 tornado that hit Joplin May 22, 2011 many could have benefitted from it's use.

Okay, so this is not made for backcountry...don't be fooled by the brand name; you'd need a sherpa just to carry this thing. BUT...it is great for overnights- guests have used it at my house and I've used it while "couch-surfing". It's enormous, plenty of room for the active sleeper, and seems reasonably sturdy. Easy to put together/take apart. And of course, great price.

This cot is extra wide and long and very comfortable. It has an attached pocket on the side for valuables or things you would like to find quickly. It is so much better than an air mattress. Add an egg crate mat and you're guaranteed a good night's sleep. So much better for your knees when getting up and down too.
