I'm sure this is a great product. But Sierra trading post didn't provide enough sizing directions. Returning it isn't worth it either, after paying the return shipping it'd only be a dollar or two. This will NOT fit larger sleeping bags.

Great for minimizing the space your clothes take in your backpack. Have used it for only a month so can't provide durability information. To give a feel for how much it can hold, when I got the bag, I stuffed 4 adult sweatshirts into it and squeezed it down to half the volume.

I purchased this medium sized compression sack to compress a 5 degree down mummy bag, then worried it might be too small. Not a problem, it held the mummy bag well and tight. Sorry I didn't have this for all those backpacking trips where my pack became the holder of my sleeping back to the exclusion of other things. Highly recommend.

Good bag for regular camping. Too heavy for any extended backpacking trip. Fits a pretty big sleeping bag.

I got the larger size of this and it was a little too big for my uses, but the medium one fits my sleeping bag perfect and the zipper pocket on the end is handy to keep sleeping items all together. This thing is bullet proof, but not lite.

This is a well made, well thought out sack. While not advertised as waterproof, it clearly has some DWR properties

These compression sacks are really too heavy and bulky for backpacking/mountaineering use. They may be nice for car camping or maybe kayak/canoe trips (although they are not dry sacks). They have a zip pocket in the lid of one, which may be handy but makes these even less compressible! They seem very sturdy though...probably less prone to tear than the very light ones.

I understand the theory behind compression bags, but thing has almost 2 times as much fabric and weight as a regular stuff sack. I don't think the advantage of compression is worth the extra weight. Also the straps used to pull it together get twisted easily. It is very ruggedly built. So if you need a tough compression sack and weight is no object, this may be for you.
