I purchased 2 of these 4 inch thick pads a week ago and tried them out both inside and outside my house. I slept as well as i do on my expensive matress. You can buy the Thermarest universal coupler and make a full size queen bed out of 2 of them (60" wide)! The air valves are larger and seem heavier duty than my Thermarest. If you have a little extra room in your car or SUV don't even try to fully compress them. They come with elastic straps and you can more loosely roll them and the straps will stretch to fit. I leave mine completely inflated and store them behind a dresser until ready for a trip.

I use this air pad on a Cabela XL cot and it is perfectly comfortable and warm. It appears to be quality made, although I am returning the one I have because it leaks slightly out of one of the baffles. In the morning after using it, I open up both of the caps - one side is silent, while the other side sucks in air for about five seconds. I am going to return for the same item.

I love this pad SOOOOO much I started sleeping on it at home some times just for the heck of it. It is pretty bulky and heavy but it is NOT a backpacking sleeping pad but 1000 times better than an air mattress. The air mattresses are a pain in the behind to inflate, this thing truly inflates itself and I mean it INFLATES itself, no touching no blowing no nothing, you can hear it suck the air in, all you got to do is open the valves. because of the quality of sleep on thin uncomfortable sleeping pads on a 3 day climbing trip by the end of the third day I would want to shoot myself. Just got back from a 5 day climbing trip to the Red river gorge, temperatures around 30 degrees every night. I am ordering a huge duffle bag right now just so I check it in and take it with on my trip to Red Rocks 2 weeks from now. this product is amazing. Now for the only Con which actually looking at the design is pretty forgivable, its a little bit of work to pack, it does not deflate easy. But nothing beats a good nights sleep. I would buy this product full price if I have to in the future.

This is the thickest self inflating sleep pad I have seen. The older I get the more cushion I need. I started on a 1//2 pad my last one was 2 inch and this is 4. I figure when I get sore on this one it will be time to give up camping which I don't plan to do for many years yet. This is big when it is packed but I have gotten to the point where sleep is worth it. I prefer self inflating to blow up air mattresses - which I do not like at all. IT took this thing overnight to inflate completely on its own. I usually use some lung power to speed it up.

Sometimes big is better! It's 4-in.thick, for max comfort over-nite. In a tent you won't feel the ground at all. This air-mat is not 4-backpacking
but 4-car camping,or @ home it's great!

After reading the reviews, I thought this would be an economical answer to my guest-bed blues and aching back. (I'm escaping Colorado winter and visiting a friend in Florida for two months.)
I added some hot air (deep breaths)and squished the end of the mattress, pushing air forward, and it inflated to full size in a few hours.
I've used it for a month on different surfaces and just can't get comfortable sleeping on this pad, even after adding egg carton foam and a thick mattress pad. I plan to send it back.
