This is my 3rd Alps mattress, the other two are the 4", one I gave as a gift to someone else with back pain who still wants to camp. I keep my 4" inflated to do my back exercises at home, but after being inflated several months, couldn't get it to roll up small enough to bring, so ordered the 3" figuring it is also slightly smaller. It still works great, so will use it for camping & keep the other inflated for exercises. This one is still hard to deflate & roll tightly, but worth the effort. I only wish they came in a shorter version, since I am only 5'1, which would save some more space & weight. I guess they think only tall, heavy people need the thicker mattresses! I also take along a comfort foam mattress topper for mine, makes it possible to sleep anywhere. Put these on the Alps cot & camp anytime, anywhere!

This air pad has exceeded our expectations. I purchased this pad three years ago for a long car camping trip and my husband due to a back injury has ended up using it daily since. The 3" loft provide comfort on any surface. After constant hard daily use one of the air bladders finally gave in. Well built, takes a beating. Got my money's worth out of it. I just purchased the replacement.

Bought these pads to sleep on in rugged terrain that has no official camp sites. We slept on angled surfaced, lava rock shards, etc. My husband is 6'3 and 255lbs and they worked well. We would sleep on the side with grip so our bags would slip off when not level. Satisfied!

I had no intention of using this for backpacking, so I didn't have expectations about size and weight. Perfect for its purpose. Very comfortable.

THIS IS A GOOD PRODUCT FOR FAMILY TYPE CAMPING IF YOU ARE DRIVING IN TO CAMP SO THAT SIZE AND WEIGHT ARE NOT A FACTOR. IT IS VERY COMFORTABLE. IT IS NOT HOWEVER A GOOD CHOICE FOR HIKING OR FLY IN TYPE CAMPING DUE TO ITS BULK. IT PERFORMS PERFECT FOR WHAT I ORDERED IT FOR; WHICH WAS TO USE WHILE TAKING THE FAMILY CAMPING.

very comfortable. but, you do need to blow in some extra air. and your going to need some longer straps to roll it up with. the ones supplied will only work for the factory, not normal people.

This is a large air pad. I'm a bit on the large side myself, so it is wonderful. Very thick, wide enough for me to sleep comfortably on, and very easy to inflate/deflate. It's not the right size for hiking and camping, but I use it for car camping and sometimes in a kayak. It does take some space to store.
