I got tired of not sleeping well because of light weight poor performing pads. I'm willing to put up with a little bulk for good sleep. Make sure to add a few good breaths after its done self inflating.

I have used this product in extended trips including backpacking and sea kayaking. It is tough and doesn't slip around when resting on it. If you like a firmer base you have to help blow it up a little but it doesn't take very long.

This is only my second sleeping pad, but I like it better than my Thermarest. This Summit pad inflates a little thicker yet still rolls a little tighter than my Thermarest. Comes with a little carry bag - how nice. Didn't feel the ground or the cold when fall camping in the Sierra Nevada's, so it did the job I expected it to do.

I picked this up during a killer STP sale and, for the price, I'd highly recommend this pad. While it certainly isn't the lightest for backpacking, which is how I use it, it's performed well for me and I've yet to have any issues after roughly 70 nights of use. The self-inflating description isn't exactly true as you will have to supply your own air to get it where it needs to be. But the 1.5" of support is accurate.
The included field repair kit is a nice touch although I've yet to need it.
A tip is to store the pad deflated and laid out flat. I just keep mine under my bed. This will add to the longevity of the pad.
When breaking down camp, you will need to roll it up, stick it under your knees to expel the extra air, close the valve and repeat to get all the air out. Obviously, longer than a foam pad breakdown but worth it for the night time comfort. I've had it out down to 20 degrees and it provides decent insulation as well.
A great choice for the shopper who doesn't want to spend a ton of money on a pad but still want quality and function. Good job ALPS.
