It's easy to assemble yes. Good quality materials and made well. BUT at 5.2 and light built female I can not get this up by myself. I camp by myself as hubby is not into it. I can get the first pole into the grommet but all consecutive two poles I do not have the strength no matter how hard and muscle and bend and lean into the bending of the poles manage to get the tip into the grommet. Once all three poles are in the grommets as designed it's super easy to place and stake and add guide lines or not and the sun/wind breaker to one side or not. I will probably have to sell this and find something I can handle. I like it once it's up but I can't get it there. Also I camp in some areas where there isn't other nearby campers. Living in a county that's several times larger than all of Rhode Island and it's more than 75% Public owned forest/creeks/rivers/lakes will there are lots of undeveloped camp sites. This was to hold and pull the camp site together between 1-2 tents and a Changing Room Tent that holds porta potty and sink. The height is good too for taller people. Just sad I can't manage it.

I camp a lot on the river and the Tri- Awning is absolutely awesome. Packs to a nice size, it's light weight, and sets up fast and easy.

Very nice for the price. The only suggestion I have for improvement is that it would have been nice to have 2 accessory "side curtains" included rather than just the 1, although I was able to contact the manufacturer and order an additional side curtain (for privacy as much as shading purposes). Sierra Trading Post is great!

Got this for a beach vacation at Lake Michigan and it did not disappoint. The only reason for not giving five stars is the stakes. If you are on sand, you will want some longer stakes, which I already owned. It creates a good-sized shady area underneath the awning and held up well in windy conditions with all the guy ropes out.

Bought this for shade for grandchild's outdoor water/sand table, table and chairs, etc. Haven't experienced wind or rain but side panel is moveable and can follow the sun. It is substantially bigger than a similar product carried by STP and seems much safer than the other product that appears to have straps(?) connecting the legs of the tripod. Since these seem to be on the ground I thought they might be a tripping hazard. We would recommend longer stakes as others have suggested.

I will start by saying I love ALPS Mountaineering products. I purchased one of their four person tents a year ago and it is flat out the best tent I have ever owned. I purchased this awning as a replacement for an easy-up and I am quite happy with it. The design is unique and well thought out. It was not easy to set up by myself but that is no biggie because I do not usually camp alone anyway. The dome shape is great because it doesn't allow water to pool on top and with three legs (one being longer) it can be easily set up on a hill or on uneven ground in the woods. When breaking down it is a cinch to take down and it easily fits back in the bag. All in all this is yet another quality product from those folks at ALPS Mountaineering. cheers

We expect this to work out great, car camping next season. We can't seem to find a place to order a second privacy sidewall, so I'm making one.

We use this product mostly for camping, but have also set it up in the back yard, and it works equally well for both. After reading several of the reviews that talked about problems in the wind, we decided to add our own heavy duty stakes and tie downs. This past weekend, we experienced 50-60 mph winds and had no problem whatsoever. We love it for it's light weight, shade cover, flexibility of size and ease of set up. We would highly recommend this canopy to anyone looking for a nice picnic table shelter or just general use as a shade cover/shelter. The only thing we would recommend is using heavier stakes and being a little creative with the tie downs and there will be no problems with wind.

We use it for car camping and it sets up quick. It even held up well on a windy day even though the stakes are kind of cheap. Will replace those in the near future.
