Bought for my son's to use on Scouting backpacking trips as well as family trips.
What I think so far:
Very easy to set up
Doors on both sides is a nice feature
Fly covers well
Plenty of room for two plus a good amount of gear as needed plus vestibules add outide storage
Appears to be very well made overall
It's going on an overnighter tomorrow night.

I haven't used this tent yet but I set it up in the living room in about 10 minutes. It is easy to put together and it looks like it will work great. It folds up nice and small which is what I needed for an overnight kayak trip. Not many bells and whistles, which can be a good thing.

Put it up inside. I like the concept of the tent. Fits into a smaller stuff sack than provided. I got it for around 90 dollars which is a great deal on a tent weighing in under 5 pounds. Got the floor saver for the Alps Mountaineering Zephyr 2 from amazon for around 20 dollars, fits great. Would give five but have not used it in the field yet.

I am much too old to use this without a really good reason.....like the big EQ has happened. But if it does, I will be glad I have put my emergency gear together. Maybe you should too.

Unfortunately this tent is not manufactured with a waterproof or warmth rating. But it does however come with a rainfly that will keep rain and snow out.

Answer
It rained 32 of the 48 hours during our trip to Linville Gorge area in NC. I would recommend an extra layer of water proofing. I plan to do the extra water proofing in the future. If I had not brought a air mattress, not inflated as extra padding/lining for the base of the tent my girlfriend and I probably would have been wet and our trip cut short. We survived a night in high 30's/low 40's and wet. This being said it did take a lot of energy to convince the lady to try staying another night, as she was mentally and physically chilled. Myself I'm a human heater and could go colder but as a native Florida son don't wish too. Good luck.

Question
“I used this tent on a backpacking trip recently and one of the buckles broke off of the tent body (the stitching came undone, the fabric is all intact). I couldn't find the lost buckle in the sand. Is it possible to get a replacement? I love this tent and would like to keep it but I see this model is no longer in stock...”

Question
“Another tent I'm considering purchasing has a "Seam-sealed bathtub design" floor. I was wondering if this tent also had something like that.”
Asked on 8/22/2011 12:00:00 AM by zzOtherlandzz from North Central Florida
Answer
This tent does have a bath tub floor design. A bathtub floor is a one piece seamless floor connecting the tent body a few inches up the sidewall, raising leaky seams above the ground where water might seep in.
