Closeouts. The improved design of the Zenith 2 AL tent by ALPS Mountaineering offers maximum weather protection and more headroom for sitting up during a downpour.
Simple two pole free-standing design promotes easy setup-breakdown
We haven't gotten to use this outside yet but are planning on it shortly. The tent has enough room for my wife and me (5'4" and 5'10") but not much else. On clear nights you can put your gear under the fly which looks to be designed for just that reason. Setup couldn't be easier. It's designed for mummy bags but we have square bags and mats that fit just fine. Can't wait to get out there!!

I realized I already posted a review for this particuliar tent but I finally got to take the ALPS Zenith 2 AL Tent on the trail. I did an overnight backpack trek here in the Wayne National Forest on the Archers Fork Loop Trail Thursday-Friday.
This tent holds up to strong winds. My campsite was high on a ridge where the winds were blowing hard all afternoon and night. The tent was very sturdy through it all. The all mesh tent body I really appreciated due to the fact the daytime temps were in the low to mid 70's for the entire hike. I welcomed those refreshing breezes.
The total weight of the Zenith 2 AL is a reasonable 4.8 lbs. Packs pretty small at 18 incles. I do appreciate the space this tent offers too. The perfect one person tent if you ask me. However, I feel it would be too small for two persons.
Definately get this tent. It is well designed, pitches quickly and holds up to the weather quite well. Forget those BIG name brands and consider the ALPS Mountaineering Zenith 2 AL Tent. You will not be sorry you did.

I bought this tent in order to have a place for my wife and I to sleep when we are on the trail. Normally I only carry a hammock. This is great buy, Its construction is top of the line and I would put it against any tent I have had or slept in.
Hey get off the couch and hit the trail...

The design of the poles is very well thought out to give rigidity and support and yet keep the weight down. I love the venting and the clear parts to be able to view out.
I am quite impressed with the quality of Alps having owned and used North Face and Mountain Hardwear.
The only thing that I really dislike, is the color-yuk!

I got to practice pitching this most excellent little tent. Extremely easy to set up-under three minutes for me. I'm amazed how lightweight this tent is! Plus I like the fact this tent will offer plenty of ventilation come the warmer months of the year.
I purchased this tent to use for my solo backpacking. Plenty of room for one person plus gear. Love all the guy-outs. I trust it will be sturdy in the wind. The colour is nice too.
Thanks Sierra Trading Post for carrying ALPS Mountaineering brand gear!

Looks to be a very comfortable tent. I will use it for backpacking, canoe and kayak camping. I like the two doors and tall end for sitting up. It is lightweight and will be easy to pack. Small size when it is packed as well. I do like the color I got (Brown) so it will be eco friendly and not stick out like a sore thumb in the wilderness. I also like that it is free standing.
The material seems a bit thin and limp compared to other tents I have had but I hope it can hold up to rugged use.
