Most Helpful 5-Star Review
Reviewed by Mountain Matt from California on Friday, December 20, 2013I am a life long backpacker and this pack did not disappoint in comfort and utility for hunting. I have been working it hard this year so far. I packed out over 90 lbs of deer meet. Although I don't think the pack was designed to carry the load. Even after that push I continue to use it for archery. It is quiet and and has good storage.
Reviewed by Saxon from Montana on Tuesday, December 17, 2013Looks great, fits well and will replace my current pack perfectly!
Reviewed by Sailormike from Michigan on Saturday, November 16, 2013I am very pleased with my most recent purchase from STP...an Alps Outdoorz daypack. This pack has more features and room than are readily apparent. This pack has a great frame to help support awkward and misshapen loads. A few pockets, but not too many, one of them large enough to carry a tripod or the standard Stanley thermos so many of us hunters use. I would not hesitate to recommend this pack to anyone who asks.
Reviewed by Susurrus from North Dakota on Tuesday, September 24, 2013This is a great pack with plenty of flexibility. The frame supports a heavy load with everything you'd need for a weekend hunt, and it can be easily compressed and strapped down so that it rides noiselessly when less than full.
Pros: quiet zippers and upper material; versatile enough to haul game, bow/rifle, and gear; sturdy internal X-frame allows weight to be carried on hips.
Cons: heavy, canvas-like base is noisy, waist belt is too stiff/padded.
I like it better than an Osprey ultralight pack because it's much quieter, but I'd never use it aside from hunting because the pack alone weighs 25% of what my weekend set-up usually weighs.
Reviewed by Eric from California on Monday, September 23, 2013This is a terrific, comfortable and versatile pack. I can wear it all day fully loaded without any issues. I deducted on star because it needs a medium size pocket with small pockets inside to organize tha small stuff (flint, steel, knife, compas, deer tags, etc). I can make do quite well with the other pockets, but being able to organize them better would be an improvement.
