Closeouts. Batteries not required -- just hand-crank this Dynamo LED bike light from Apex Technologies and go. One minute of cranking powers light for over forty minutes on high setting.
Used for the first time - worked well on a night ride, temp 35 degrees. Went almost an hour and the only reason I cranked it was we had stopeed - charge seems to hold well

Cracking it for a few seconds is enough for my 10 - 15 minute ride home at night. Love that it doesn't use batteries. Only downside is how the light connects to the carrier. It must be removed to crank and it's a little difficult to slide off. The plastic seems somewhat delecate, but it hasn't broken yet.

I use these lights for commuting to and from work in all weather conditions. I got tired of having to replace batteries and batteries leaking and bursting inside other lights. These take care of that problem and for the past few months of use, I have had no issues with them. They are bright enough and stay lit for a long time. The only complaint is that they are a bit difficult to remove every time I park the bike. I am afraid that with repeated usage I will break the mounting bracket. However, they have not fallen of the bike yet, despite all the potholes in Boston.

I bike to and from work often and was looking for a light supplement for those dark patches in between street lights with the shorter fall and winter days. It hardly has enough power to light anything in your path unless you're traveling at under 5 mph. Being crank powered though, it's a great toy for my 17 month old son and I will probably keep it around in a glove box for an emergency light. Bottom line: not good for biking, but not a useless product.

Great little light, works well at night for only being 3 LEDs. Left it out in the rain and it still worked fine. It smelled awful like mothballs when I first took it out of the package... I would suggest putting it on your bike and riding with it as soon as possible to speed up the off-gassing process. Sometimes it is a bit difficult to remove from the mounting hardware, but once you get the hang of it its fine. Good conversation piece, too!

Pros:
Easy to Use, Lightweight, Versatile
Cons:
Scuffed in package
Best Uses:
Commuting, Long Rides
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Haven't had it very long so I can't attribute to its durability, but so far, I'm very pleased with it. It also can double as a pocket sized flashlight, easily detaches from bike mount. Windup mechanism is easy to use. Never needs batteries, so you will never be stuck with a dying light out in the middle of nowhere.
On arrival, it was strangely dusty on the inside of the package, smelled strongly of chemicals and was curiously scuffed, but packaging was intact and product works just fine. The smell has gone away soon after opening.

We had this hand-crank bicycle light with us when we went camping, and it worked really well. I bought it for my daughter, and she used it on her bike, full beam, at night, going to town and back, as well as for getting around the campground. She loved winding it up before sacking out, which was an unexpected plus. And it was always bright. Most important, it proved a reliable back up, when our tent light batteries went.
We havent biked with it in the rain yet, though.

This is the perfect little light for early morning bike rides. I cranked it up about a minute - it's been 40 minutes and the strobe is still going strong. Very nice construction. Fits on bike handle snugly - very easy to install. I'm very pleased and feel much safer now that it's started being darker later in the mornings.
