knit collar trim is too fat, so leg openings are a bit large

I have several Santana boots and love them. Still looking for the right warm waterproof boot, I thought this would do it. But sadly, they don't measure up. I knew they would be puffy like a puffer jacket, but the top fold over wool cuff is jus plain weird. It is difficult to zip up all the way with the big nylon gusset under the zipper, so, even though I have normal calves and have no problem with other boots, these were tight around the calf when I struggled with them to zip. I found that unsnapping the wool cuff first helped--but too much trouble. Even then, I would have kept them except that the sole was a more narrow wedge with not good tread, which meant that footing on icy surfaces would be iffy. I think this is more of a fashion boot than utilitarian.

They look cute and sporty with skinny jeans or leggings. The leg openings are a bit large, so I wear leg warmers in addition to socks and leggings.

I really like the height of the boots, they come up to my mid calf (I'm 5'7").

The textile fold over part of the boots can be adjusted slightly by lifting them up (unfolding them) to the knee. I plan on doing that when I snowshoe in deep snow this winter.

When I wear them with skinny jeans, long sweater, ski jacket and scarf, I have a complete, adorable and warm winter outfit!
