Arc'teryx Sniper Pullover Shirt - Half Zip, Polartec® Wind Pro® (For Men)

Well made and nicely finished. I really like the WindPro material, does a great job of blocking those cool breezes.

Very warm. Almost to warm to use as a layer under a jacket unless it is very cold. But for a cool night or day it is perfect by itself. It's a bit bulky when folding to put away so if carrying somewhere it would not be as easy to store as say a light fleece. Blocks the wind surprisingly well.

This is one of the best pieces I've found from Arc'teryx. The fabric has a great, tight herringbone weave on the outside and a nice soft face on the skin side. Incredibly windproof, and the deep zipper allows you to vent really well when things warm up a bit. My only gripe is the sizing - I am a 16/34-35 in men's shirts, or 44 regular in jackets. I normally wear a Large in most brands, but with Arc'Teryx I need to bump up to an XL to get enough space in the chest and shoulders. The sleeves, then, end up being a little on the long side, and the length of the piece (around my waist) is a little long and loose (I'm a 35 waist) but still entirely functional. If you wanted to wear this as a "technical" fit (only a tight baselayer underneath) you might be able to get away with your normal size, but for any layering beyond that, I'd go up one size. The Sniper is a couple of seasons old, so it was still made in Canada. Newer Arc'Teryx gear is mostly (if not all) sewn in China, and just doesn't seem to have the same quality as the Canadian-sewn stuff.

I use this jacket more as an overshirt while living in the mountains of Colorado. The water and wind protection is excellent, however, due to its "breathability" it is not particularly warm and a jacket or vest is helpful on the really cold days. Love the fit, I'm 6'2"/235 lbs and the XL fits great. You will not be disappointed in this purchase!

I wait and wait for good deals from STP sothat I might purchase this jacket. Best jacket on the market. STP offerd jacket in three colors; I have all three of them. Its that good.

This is a nice warm top but it feels a little bulky compared to my other Arcteryx items. It is good quality and very warm but I think it is more of a top to wear around town than for outdoor activities. It may work well as a top for downhill skiing.

I bought this piece about a year ago. Didn't want to review before I ran it thru its paces (winter). Because of this pullover, I've kind of opted for full zip from now on. I'm still on the fence with this one. I would like to have seen this made with two handwarmer pockets. A little stiff at first, but its really nice to the touch now. Not the most breathable, and not the warmest either. It is NOT a 'thick' fleece - tight weave, yes, but not thick. And with that, I'd have to disagree with the comments regarding it feeling 'heavy'. This is a good piece of gear, but not a great piece of gear. Comparing Arc'teryx; this one vs. the Regent Cardigan...as an all around midweight piece - I'd opt for the Regent for it's versatility. But I still ain't gettin' rid of the Sniper - it has it's place.

The first item from Arc'Teryx that I'll be sending back....normally I really dig their products.

6'2'' 190 i can wear extra large and large products. the large fit me perfect. although bulky (not for back backing) this product is well worth the price. Very warm and blocks the wind well for a soft shell. I would buy it again

The cut suits me well, and this pullover does what it is supposed to. It's not lightweight and it has some bulk, but perhaps that is a characteristic of this material. The downsides to me personally are that it only has one small pocket, and that it does not breathe well. I've used it in 10 degree windy weather, and it kept me warm enough. But it needed to be dried inside out afterward, as the sweat doesn't wick off easily.
