4.0 out of 5 stars. NiceVerified Buyer Reviewed by Hillsboough Baby Boomer from Hillsborough on Thursday, April 7, 2016Arche is a very nice brand. I have a very narrow foot so added a heel insert (purchased previously from STP) to fill the heel area and add an arch support.
The beige nubuck is very attractive and reminds me of my favorite vintage Ferragamo wedges. I know I will wear these during the summer and fall.
Thank you STP for having a very reasonable price for these French flats. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. Very comfortable!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Sierra Shopper from Minneapolis, MN on Monday, June 29, 2015These shoes are extremely comfortable and have hardy rubber soles that are not typical for a ballet flat. They are of the utmost quality and very nicely made. The size 39 is a true 7 1/2 and I definately would say to order up a size. I am always a 38 in European sizing and the 39 fits me perfect! The price is good for what wonderful shoes you get!

1.0 out of 5 stars. Stiff and smallVerified Buyer Reviewed by Rocket from Honolulu on Sunday, April 12, 2015Sized too small, has no arch support and very little cushioning, the nubuck leather was really stiff and the toe box is cut oddly (it pinched my toes). Needless to say, they had to go back as they met none of my expectations for a ballet flat.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Like wearing butter!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Cupcake Suzy.l from Maryland. on Friday, March 20, 2015These shoes are incredibly comfortable. I've worn Arche boots before and these didn't disappoint me. They are a nice neutral shade too.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Sizing can be challenging, but great quality and lookVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Boston on Sunday, March 8, 2015I bought these shoes after much research about the Arche brand, which is made in France and has a strong reputation for quality and durability. I initially ordered a 39 (I wear a U.S. 8.5), but ended up sending them back for a 40. (Arche makes half sizes, but they are not available in the States). Although the 39s were cute and sold me on the make and look of the shoes, the elastic around the top was just too tight. I feared the size 40 would be too big (I've never worn the equivalent of a U.S. 9, usually going down rather than up), but they had all the same great details and enough room for my feet to breathe. Wearing them with mini sock liners fills up the extra space.
I should add that I bought these because I was looking for a ballet flat that would provide enough support to walk around town ALL DAY, and I was frustrated by the paper-thin soles that other makers--including "luxury" brands--offered. These flats solved that problem--they are made to LAST, and they have a comfortable sole that is substantial enough to absorb shock, but not clunky and "old lady"-looking. Excellent quality, very attractive, and it's great to support a shoemaker that doesn't produce in a sweatshop.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Shoe size runs narrowReviewed by Donna the shopper from PA on Thursday, February 12, 2015These shoes would be rated 5 stars, but unfortunately, I am so disappointed I have to return them due to size runs extremely narrow in toe area.
Definitely not for an average foot width. I was so excited to buy my first pair of Arche shoes (Albame ballet flats) and for such a great price from ST.
I usually wear USA size 9.5-10 normal width. Bought Euro size 41 (10-10.5) as that happened to be the only size (last pair) offered on (ST)Sierra Trading. ST reviews do mention this shoe is narrow, but i usually never have width problem. I researched reviews on other sites and there are so many happy customers who loved this style shoe. Perhaps this particular pair or style shoe has a size & width issue. I do think that the shoes I received were previously returned as mentioned in prior reviews here. The shoes were in the box laying on crinkled tissue paper--not perfectly positioned or neatly wrapped as new shoes usually are. Plus there are some particles stuck to soles of shoes like briefly worn.
These shoes would be perfect for slim feet. I did try them on and although a tight fit, I could still feel the comfort factor come through. Felt like you are walking on clouds! So very comfortable! Too bad for me I will not be enjoying these shoes as I had hoped. -
4.0 out of 5 stars. Kinda NarrowReviewed by SfMoma from US on Wednesday, October 1, 2014The color they call "taupe" was not pictured when I ordered, but a medium/ light beige was pictured. The "taupe" as it turns out, is a dark brown, on the box this color is named "castor" It is a practical and nice looking neutral color, just not how I think of taupe. Very comfortable overall, but a bit narrow in the toes, probably not going to work for my wide-spreading toes. I love the design which is simple and does not show "toe cleavage." Flexible shoes with typical Arche medium support
I'd recommend these for average to slightly narrow feet. -
