This is a great jacket. The outer afbric is quite durable and the inner fllece is very warm. Every part of this jacket is performance fir and fits snug. I am 5'10", 170 lbs and a medium was the perfect fit. The one drawback for fit is the neck. It is cut to expand from the base of the neck. The only use I can think of is so you can tuck your chin into the neck to stay a bit warmer. While this is handy when standing around, I am not sure it is really all that good an idea since this jacket is mainly going to be worn by active people. A very similar jacket is the Arc'Teryx Hercules, it is slightly less bulky, but also blocks a little less wind. In static cold or under a hard shell, both are outstanding.

First softshell I've ever purchased as well as first Arc'Teryx product. Had it a week and seems pretty solid. The insulation didn't disappoint; the warmth to weight is excellent. It cuts wind effectively and shed decent snowfall no problem. Was warm with a mid weight base layer down to 15F. The cuffs are perfect @ the wrist but way too tight when pushed up to the forearm. I have a large neck and even for me, it is cut too big when zipped up. The chest and inside pockets are on the small side. Most disappointing though was the stitching. I thought for a $300(retail) fleece jacket the finishing would be top quality, but was instead standard Chinese import. Mediocre quality control on the stitching and threading finishing details. Overall seems pretty nice softshell.

Great Jacked, on cold days I wear this under my Alpha AR jacket and I'm warm as can be. Sunny days the Easy Rider is all you need. Great product at a great price. Buy a few!!

Great for skiing warm and comfortable. I wear this under my Theta AR jacket on cold days and I'm high dry and warm as can be. This is my second purchase of this product and the only negative thing I can say is the neck of this one is oversized; the one I bought a few years back has a smaller neck which makes for a better fit. Overall great jacket and price.

cut for a larger person than I am (5'9" 180) so I returned it. Looks to be a quality product though.

Love the jacket but will have to return it due to the giant neck. At 5'10" with a 15 1/2 in neck I find this neck huge. I wish I could keep it.

Excellent execution of detail, as usual with A'TX. This jacket will be versatile for several applications, with its wind- and water- resistance. Looking forward to using it skiing with just a light wt. 1/4 zip turtleneck; it will be warm on cold windy lifts, interspersed with unzipped as needed with runs. Probably too warm for me for non-stop winter activity, but that's not what it will be used for. I have worn it casually around town with 50 degree evenings, and it is fine for that as well. This has the usual A'TX fit of trim but not too snug. The cut and tailoring at shoulders, chest and arms allow good articulation and range of motion without binding, with good length at the back when reaching overhead. Medium fits well for me at 5'10" 165 lbs, and it is nice to have the waist fit proportionally trim as well. Roomy enough for a midweight base layer, but no bulky sweater--not needed under this anyway, it is plenty warm and wind resistant.

I bought this jacket for winter hiking. Since I already own a couple of Arc'Teryx pieces, I was expecting a jacket with a somewhat trimmer fit. (I'm 6'1", 175lbs., and bought a Large.) The fit is pretty relaxed in the body, and the collar is very roomy as well, though the sleeves fit my long arms perfectly. Otherwise, the jacket seems well made, and the Powershield fabric is wonderful. It would probably be OK for someone who is a bit heavier than me. Sadly, I sent it back.

I've been looking for a softshell jacket that I could wear on all but the coldest winter days without a base layer. This is it! The jacket's Polartec powershield shell has a thick pile lining inside so it is warm, as well as lightweight.
