This jacket is great on the mountain. Great for less than perfect conditions.

This felt a little tight around the hips for a medium, and the zipper seemed less sturdy than i would have expected, but other than those two things, this is great. the sidewinder zipper does feel really great on the chin and the arms don't make the jacket ride up when you lift your arms. I also really like the green tea color.

I just received my jacket today and have not used it yet but I will be using it while backpacking in a wide variety of weather and temperature conditions. When trying it on I noticed several important features and characteristics: *It has a very close, attractive fit and yet is not restrictive at all even when worn with multiple insulation layers worn under it. Very nice. *It breathes well even with multiple layers. *The pit zips are very well placed for maximum ventilation. They open from either end. Also very nice. *The hood is very easily adjusted within a very wide range and with one hand. It adjusts to a nice snug fit with mimimal vision restriction and a good visor. *The handwarmer pockets are well placed and voluminous. I doubt that I would use any of the other pockets. Overall, the construction is of very high quality with many thoughtful details and I anticipate that it will perform reasonably well in a wide range of conditions. There are a few features that I would prefer had been done a bit differently, though. *The handwarmer pockets zip down to open, up to close which makes it difficult to close them one-handed. *I have concerns about a fair-sized elastic loop dangling off the back of my head, snagging on tree limbs (and anything else) as I pass by. I wonder if there was a better way to do this? *It would be nice to be able to snap (or velcro, or whatever) the powder skirt up out of the way when not in use. Also, with a powder skirt the adjustable hem seems a bit redundant. *There's no ArcTeryx logo on it. I know it's petty, but I've always liked the logo, what can I say? I'll try to get over it. I can't wait to use this jacket!!!

I kept trying to convince myself it wasn't so snug around the hips.....but in the end, I sent it back. I LOVE the color (subdued greens), the flattering design and all the great features. I couldn't seem to stow the hood in the collar without it buldging...minor issue.

I didn't hang onto this one, thinking it would feel constrictive across the chest when wearing layers for warmth (when the pit zips were closed that is). The main zipper, which curves to the side near the neckline, creates a charming style feature. One feature I preferred in the jacket which I selected instead of this one was a fabric liner which seemed like it would facilitate breathability and might better protect the Gore-tex from friction over time (I suppose I can't be sure of that however).

This jacket is a typical Arcteryx, well-built and depending on what you bought, great for the outdoors. I live in the NW where it's wet and soggy, especially when skiing so this jacket is perfect. Nice to not have the zipper flapping on my chin. The fit is athletic without being oversized, so any layering must also fit fairly close to the body. I'm 5'10" and the large is long enough in the sleve, which is usually a problem for me and womens clothing. Overall two thumbs up.

This is a good jacket, but feels stiff and the collar is high. Great in wet weather but not my favorite Arcteryx jacket. It's also a noisy jacket and makes a loud swishing sound, but its advantages outweigh its disadvantages. It also runs smaller at the waist.
