“Nice jacket but not an "athletic" fit”

“This jacket is not as "athletic" cut as the reviews suggest. The large fit me well in the shoulders and chest but did not seem very tapered and looked like a cape at my waist. When I tightened the elastic cords at the waist, I may as well have been wearing a triple-stuffed down jacket. I ordered a medium as an exchange, but the shoulders and chest were too small. I am 6 feet tall and weigh 170 pounds. I usually wear size 30-31 jeans, 32 dress pants, and size 42-44 blazer. Lack of tapering is always a problem, and while this jacket is allegedly tapered for "athletic" individuals, it did not feel very tapered to me. As much as I like Arcteryx, I think Marmot jackets have a much more athletic fit. That being said, this is a great product if you are looking for a high quality jacket without much concern for fit.”
